Job Description:

Join the Airbus Quality Laboratory in Illescas as a Laboratory Technician. If you are a dedicated and meticulous person, you will take on a fundamental role: you will evaluate the properties of materials, components, and structures to ensure the quality of cutting-edge composite materials used in the manufacturing of our aircrafts.

Responsibilities

  • Sample Preparation: Prepare composite material samples according to established procedures and specifications for various mechanical and physical tests.
  • Test Execution: Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests on composite materials, including, but not limited to, tensile, compression, thermal, and physico-chemical tests, utilizing specialized equipment.
  • Data Analysis: Accurately record, analyze, and interpret test data, identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Compliance Assessment: Evaluate test results against design requirements and specifications, determining conformity or non-conformity of materials.
  • Reporting: Generate clear and concise reports documenting test procedures, results, and conclusions, including non-conformance reports when necessary.
  • Work Instruction Management: Understand, improve, and accurately document work instructions for laboratory processes and testing methodologies.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory processes and test methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-level and/or Higher-level Vocational Degree (or Technical Degree) in Chemistry, Mechanics, or similar.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working in a materials testing laboratory, particularly with composite materials.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and testing methodologies (e.g., AITM, ASTM, ISO, EN).
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (e.g., LIMS, SAP).

  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
