Masterand student in the field of Small Satellite Ground Segment (d/f/m),
Thesis: Upgrade of the F-Series Crypto Ground Segment Software

Airbus and its F-Series partners develop satellite core avionics for small satellites including a CCSDS-compliant De/Encoder communications board with security. A complementary Ground Crypto application exists to access and control said security features, which however needs a functional and usability upgrade. The upgraded application needs to suit satellites flying redundant communication interfaces and payload link encryption.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Familiarize with the F-Series Ground/Space communication.
  
• Familiarize with the F-Series Ground Security Unit (Java Software).
  
• Adapt the GUI/MMI for more intuitive handling of the security functions of a redundant Crypto Board set in space.
  
• Consider the feedback from a parallel running redundancy/cross-coupling boards test campaign.
  
• Prepare the Ground Security Unit for managing onboard payload crypto boards.
  
• Perform elementary tests with a spacecraft simulator that models such payload crypto board and downlink.
  
• Document results (MS-Office).
  

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled student of aerospace engineering, software engineering, security engineering or comparable graduation
  
• Profound knowledge about Java Application Design.
  
• High level of motivation for learning and improvement of skills, personal initiative and the ability for efficient timing.
  
• Team spirit and willingness to co-operate and working together in an international Company.
