Master's Student (d/f/m) - Thesis in Smallsat Avionics: Using a CAN connected Device for Onboard Storage, Retrieval of Telemetry before Downlink

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Familiarize with the F-Series Onboard-Software and Telemetry.
  • Familiarize with the Onboard-Software Spacecraft State Vector.
  • Implement a connection of the OBC to a remote CAN device.
  • Modify the OBSW to use this device as storage location for the Spacecraft State Vector.
  • Modify the OBSW to use this as storage location for the telemetry when ground contact is not available.
  • Modify the OBSW to retrieve the stored telemetry packets, sort and downlink them when Ground Contact is available again.
  • Develop and execute tests of the downlink chain with hardware in the loop, the satellite simulator and the Mission Control Software.
  • Document the work according to the project templates (MS Word).



Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled master's student of aerospace engineering, embedded software/electronics engineering or comparable graduation
  • Sound knowledge about C++ programming
  • Sound knowledge about embedded systems programming
  • High level of motivation for learning and improvement of skills, personal initiative and the ability for efficient timing.
  • Team spirit and willingness to co-operate and working together in an international Company.
  • Fluent English
