Master Thesis on Experimental Quantum Communication (d/f/m)

We at Airbus Central Research & Technology pioneer cutting edge technologies for future airborne and space-borne systems, providing novel functionalities whilst reducing the environmental footprint of Airbus products and services. You will join the team of our researchers working on quantum communication. With your contribution you will make an impact on and development of secure communication networks for Airbus.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Developing methods for quantum communication using fiber and free space links.
  • Performing experiments using quantum communication testbenches.
  • Model and analyse experimental data.
  • Conduct and perform hands-on laboratory and conceptual work equally.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full time student (d/f/m) within computer science/electrical engineering/communications or similar.
  • You have a solid understanding of the principles of quantum mechanics and a strong interest in quantum information or quantum communication.
  • You are familiar with basic optical components and have experience with assembling and aligning of optical setups.
  • Ideally you are familiar with Linux and the basic command line tools, as well as with Python based programming.
  • Fluent in English or German.
