In order to support our Cabin & Cargo developments and transverse activities, Airbus Operations is looking for a

Master Thesis Candidate - Cabin and Cargo MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) & 3D Simulation

We need your help to optimize Airbus Cabin & Cargo MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) development processes and tool interactions, exemplified by the Cargo Loading System. Imagine an animated 3D cargo container moving within the aircraft during loading procedures. In the background, requirements are seamlessly linked to structure and behavior models, more closely representing reality and enhancing validation and decision-making.
To achieve this, we need your assistance to connect different modeling levels to ensure consistency, coherence, and a shared vision. This enables a future where engineering is more intuitive and efficient, allowing also the derivation of training material for future system operators.

Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Achieve an animated 3D model of the Cargo Loading System with system behavior for operational scenarios.
  • Develop standardized information data processing via exchange formats or meta-models.
  • Evaluate different designs based on criteria such as power consumption.


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Engineering student within aeronautical, electrical or mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computer science (or equivalent).
  • Already your first job experience, preferably in an international environment, would be beneficial.
  • Strong technical background and interest in product development and innovation.
  • Willingness to develop communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical thinking, creativity and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Passion for aviation with a human and passenger centric approach.
  • Strong interest in technologies and products which are even beyond your area of expertise.
  • Systems engineering / systems thinking.
  • Language skills: English professional level, German and French beneficial.
