Role: Lead Technology Analyst - SAP BASIS

Description: As a Lead Technology Analyst for Airbus Aerostructures, oversee and optimize the design, maintenance, and day-to-day administration of core SAP landscapes. This role bridges business needs with robust technical architecture and rules, ensuring high availability, stability, and optimal performance across all enterprise platforms, with a primary focus on ERP environments. In addition, the role drives operational efficiency by spearheading automation initiatives for process definitions, service catalogs, and infrastructure maintenance within an international, multi-functional team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Core Administration: Manage and execute end-to-end SAP BASIS administration and technical core tasks, including system installations, upgrades, support packages (SPAM/SAINT), patches, fixes, and add-on software component deployments.
  • Performance & Monitoring: Proactively monitor and analyze system performance (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, and disk space) to implement tuning strategies that prevent system downtime or degradation.
  • Landscape Management: Maintain multi-landscape environments through environment copies, client administration, system refreshes, and advanced transport management system lifecycle configurations (including Solution Manager ChaRM).
  • Connectivity & Operations: Configure and manage RFC destinations, partner profiles, ALE administration, and inbound/outbound queues. Oversee background job scheduling and background execution tasks within the database planning calendar.
  • Security & Compliance: Handle single sign-on (SSO) setups, SAML integrations, and SSL certificate applications and renewals to maintain strict alignment with Airbus compliance policies.
  • Automation & Evolution: Contribute to team initiatives aimed at automating process definitions, catalog management, and tooling maintenance. Define and suggest SAP best practices and golden rules of role management.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Support SAP systems running on High Availability (HA) platforms. Perform deep root cause analysis, trace evaluations, and execute standard support activities (SDCCN, SAP Service connections, object registration, and SAP incident tracking).
  • Communication & Reporting: Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions while engaging directly with European customers and international stakeholders. Prepare and deliver timely daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational reports.

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate with 9+ years of core SAP BASIS experience in large-scale, enterprise-level SAP system landscapes (ERP ECC, Solution Manager ChaRM, Quality Management, Job scheduling tool and Fiori integrated ecosystems).
  • Deep technical knowledge and an analytical mindset required to execute proactive measures, performance tuning, and deep root cause troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience in performing technical core tasks like SAP installations, end-to-end provisioning, system refreshes, and Java support package updates.
  • Proven experience working directly with European clients, possessing exceptional customer-facing communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong understanding of modern distributed architecture, automation workflows, and infrastructure catalog maintenance.

Additional Expertise:

  • Practical experience or knowledge in SAP Security & Authorizations.
  • Hands-on experience with S/4HANA, S4HC and SAP BTP Administration.
  • Strong technical familiarity with HANA Database Administration.
  • Operating System Administration & OS-Level Access

  • Achieve high customer satisfaction ratings through excellent communication and delivery metrics.
  • Ensure absolute availability, stability, and peak performance of production and non-production landscapes.
