The center has strong capabilities in the areas of structural analysis, loads, aerodynamics, avionics software design and testing, system simulation, digital mock-up and system installation etc. In the avionics software team, we perform end to end software development activities starting from high level requirements definition to the certification of the software applying product line technology, component based development, formal methods etc.
Role:
Lead Software Engineer - New Product Development: This role focuses on the pre-development R&T phase for upcoming projects followed by a formal end to end software development lifecycle . You will contribute to predevelopment activities in areas including the technical solution selection of modeling frameworks & Manual Code Framework, define DO-178C/DO-331 certification strategies for safety critical software, and architect/implement high-integrity software solutions.
Core Objectives :
- Development Framework:
- Lead the analysis and finalization of the modeling framework (e.g., SCADE, Simulink or similar frameworks) & Manual Code Framework for the new development project, focusing on factors including expressivity and turnaround time between specification and certification.
- Develop the software solution using the selected frameworks

- High-Integrity Architecture:
- Define the software logical and physical architecture, specifically addressing areas including high-integrity principles ,redundancy, performance needs.
- Functional Breakdown of proposed Architecture at Sub Function / Partitions.
- Architecture Prototyping:
- Utilize modeling tools and/or manual coding to validate architecture elements, and quick prototyping to mature the logic behind high Integrity Software Architecture.

- Certification Strategy:
- Establish a robust certification strategy adhering to DO-178C and DO-331 DAL-A standards, including the classification of activities into tool-based automation or manual approach .
- Assess Tool Qualification Level (TQL) requirements for selected frameworks to ensure compliance with DAL-A objectives.

- Planning & Estimation:
- Generate ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) estimates by understanding the Functional needs from the Systems Team & Proposed Software Solutions.
Technical Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience: 12+ Years of proven technical track record in aerospace software development, including exposure to the pre-development or architecture phase of high integrity Software Development.
- Standards: Knowledge of DO-178C and DO-331 for DAL-A applications.
- Tools: Hands-on experience with modeling tools like SCADE (specifically KCG code generation), Simulink, or Similar tools for developing high-integrity application logics.
- SDLC Skills : Requirement Engineering, Software Architecture & Detailed Design, Programming Language(C/C++), Build & Integration.
- Other Preferred Skills
- ARINC 653 based Partitioning Environment.
- Formal Verification of safety properties at the model level
- Familiarity with Avionics protocol like AFDX, A429, Display Protocols(Like A661)
- Familiarity with ATA 31 (Alerting & Recording Systems) and the Sub Systems like FWS(Flight Warning System), CDS (Cockpit Display System), and ICP (Interactive Control Panels).
- ARINC 653 based Partitioning Environment.
