An opportunity for an ISR Software Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the FITS Software Department. We have opened a position to be part of the team that has successfully developed more than 20 versions of the Fully Integrated Tactical Mission (FITS) for more than 16 different customers around the world. The team is multidisciplinary and highly innovative, facing key challenges in the defense sector. The jobholder will reinforce our software development unit, taking part in embedded software development projects for ISR Mission Systems in L&M (mainly C-295), UAVs, and/or Tankers platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

• Analyze and Define: Perform the analysis of functional system requirements and define software requirements using DOORS.
  
• Design and Model: Model the Software Detailed Design for specific functionalities in UML using Rational Rose.
  
• Develop and Code: Implement and code Software Components using C++ and Python.
  
• Verify and Validate: Define Software Qualification Tests, validate requirements, and execute Unit, Component, and Integration Tests.
  
• Manage Configuration: Handle software components configuration via GIT and/or CVS, and manage problem resolution (Change Proposals/bugs) in JIRA.
  
• Act as Focal Point: Coordinate with the rest of the organization regarding assigned functionalities, providing problem analysis, support, and improvement ideas.

• Education: Educated in a Computer Science, Telecommunication, Industrial Engineering degree, or equivalent discipline.
  
• Between 2 and 5 years of proven experience in C/C++ development, Software Design with UML, Software Verification, Requirements Management, and Software Configuration/problem tracking. Experience in local network configuration and knowledge of network protocols is also required.
  
• Soft skills: Willingness to develop yourself, grow, learn, and maintain a proactive mindset.
  
• Languages: Negotiation level of English and Spanish (mandatory).
  
• Technical knowledge: Embedded systems tools, DOORS, Rational Rose, CVS/GIT, and JIRA.
  
• Specific Requirement: Be in a position to obtain Security Personal Clearance up to NATO/OCCAR SECRET.
  

Valuable / Nice to have:

• Experience with scripting languages (Python) and HMI/GIS technologies (Carmenta, QT, ILOGMaps, ILOGViews).
  
• Experience with ISR Sensor integration (Radar, EO/IR, IFF, AIS, ADS-B, MAD, Acoustic, Anti-pollution system, Armament) and Avionics protocols (ARINC-429, 1553, AFDX).
  
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket), and knowledge of Mission Systems.
