A position of Industrial/Development Manager has just opened within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid). You will join the ESA/EU Earth Observation Future Programmes department.
The mission will measure in-clouds winds and deliver profiles of rain, snow and ice water. This position will contribute to the development of your competences for taking over large Project Management roles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be accountable for
- Leading all industrial and development activities for the bid / study for a competitive and successful bid and for a robust project implementation phase
- Defining the development approach and sequence through a deep analysis of project drivers and risks
- Elaborating the Development Plan, synthesizing the development approach, project roadmap and schedule, interdependencies, models policy, AIV strategy
- Defining the industrial setup baseline and alternatives, and coordinating with the procurement team the procurement activities
You will be in charge of the following main activities:
- Leading all industrial and development activities for the bid / study for a competitive and successful bid and for a robust project implementation phase
- Lead the necessary activities so that industrial and development aspects are mature for the successful bid
- Understand and contribute to the strategic decisions
- Keep focus on competitiveness for bid and robustness for project implementation, and contribute actively to costing exercises and design-to-value processes
- Involve and coordinate the relevant stakeholders for a collaborative and efficient approach
- Lead the necessary activities so that industrial and development aspects are mature for the successful bid
- Defining the development approach and sequence through a deep analysis of project drivers and risks
- Identify key projects drivers, differentiators and interdependencies
- Perform a deep risks analysis of the project, and understand unknowns elements
- Develop an efficient development approach focused on key risks and unknowns mitigations
- Identify key projects drivers, differentiators and interdependencies
- Elaborating the Development Plan, synthesizing the development approach, project roadmap and schedule, interdependencies, models policy, AIV strategy
- Synthesize the development approach, challenge and mature it
- Elaborate the project schedule, identify the critical path and optimize
- Integrate the model’s policy, AIT and verification strategy through iterations with Engineering and AIT
- Dialogue with customer, challenge them when necessary and integrate feedback
- Synthesize the development approach, challenge and mature it
- Defining the industrial setup baseline and alternatives, and coordinating with the procurement team the procurement activities
- Define the industrial consortium considering optimum solutions between contributors’ maturity, expertise and costs, and meeting customer requirements
- Contribute to Make or Buy decisions
- Define baseline and prepare alternatives for further optimisation depending on customer industrial requirements maturity
- Initiate and steer the RFI/RFP process with procurement, and integrate feedback into the consortium
- Identify industrial weaknesses and define back-up plans
- Define the industrial consortium considering optimum solutions between contributors’ maturity, expertise and costs, and meeting customer requirements
Business travels can be expected on monthly basis in Europe and consequently, you must be willing to travel accordingly.
SKILLS
Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills? Apply! We are looking forward to know you:
- Educated to master level in Engineering.
- 5 years’ experience in Engineering or Industrial management (ideally in the space industry; in the field of mission, platform and/or payload would be a plus)
- 3 years’ experience in Project Management or integrated into an operational project team (either in a study or an implementation phase)
- Airbus PM certification for Bronze level (at least on-going)
- Having gone through an implementation phase bid is a plus
- You have abilities to manage a team, be an active listener, and develop the right team spirit for a project, boost enthusiasm and engagement
- You are able and willing to organise activities, define priorities, give clear guidelines and take difficult decisions
- You have the ability to quickly understand various technical, industrial and programmatic drivers and propose a clear way forward with a solid plan and alternatives
- You have demonstrated ability to deliver on time, cost, quality on several project conditions and are interested into business development
- Language skills:
- Advanced or fluent level in English
- French, German or Spanish would be a plus
- Advanced or fluent level in English
