We are now looking for a HO Capability Center to join our team in Airbus GBS in Portugal.

The Job holder will be the proximity manager within Airbus Global Business Services (GBS), ensuring cross-functional alignment across PMO, Creative, Compliance, Customer Services, and Business Management. The role focuses on governance, talent development, and the transition from a Center of Competence (CoC) to a NextGen operating model while defining a strategic vision aligned with GBS priorities.

Responsibilities - your mission:

  • Cross-functional Leadership & Alignment - Balancing and aligning priorities across multiple teams (PMO, Creative, Compliance, Customer Services, and Business Management) while ensuring consistency in governance and local people management.
  • Strategic Vision & Execution - Defining and executing a clear vision for the center that aligns with GBS and global organizational objectives, while adapting to evolving business needs, e.g. move from CoC / extended team to a NextGen operating model.

This role will oversee as the local proximity manager the Project Management Office (PMO), the Creative team, the Compliance team, the Customer Services team and Business Management team (all of the CoC for now, i.e. extended team only), driving excellence in governance and local people management.

  • Define and lead the center's vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with GBS and global organizational objectives.
  • Represent the center within Airbus functions.
  • Develop and execute tactical plans and projects aligned with the GBS strategy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership, ensuring alignment of the Capability Center’s objectives with broader GBS priorities.
  • Establish and enforce PMO standards, methodologies, and tools for consistent project delivery as defined by the process owners (e.g. BX)
  • Manage a team and ensure wellbeing, high level ethic and compliance behavior while developing them.

Requirements - our ideal candidate will have

  • Degree in Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Proven expertise in leading teams in a multinational environment.
  • Leadership & People Management - Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams while ensuring well-being and high ethical standards.
  • Strategic Thinking & Vision - Ability to define and drive the center’s vision and strategy in alignment with GBS and global objectives.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management - Strong skills to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and Airbus functions.
