An opportunity for a Flight Physics Flight Physics Processes, Methods and Tools Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The Flight Physics Centre of Competence (CoC) is a German-Spanish engineering organisation in Airbus Defence and Space - Air Power. The organisation is responsible for the flight physics deliverables for all Airbus Air Power programmes. The deliveries to programmes are planned and driven by the Integration Managers of the CoC, who are also the Flight Physics interfaces to the Chief Engineering and program organisations.

We are looking for a Processes, Methods and Tools (PMT) Engineer to join the Flight Physics Capabilities team and support transversal activities across programmes. This role will work in close collaboration with the Flight Physics PMT Integration Manager, contributing to the definition, deployment and continuous improvement of processes, methods and tools, with the objective of improving consistency, efficiency and integration across Flight Physics disciplines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main task will be:

  • Supporting integration of Flight Physics activities within the programme lifecycle, leading the generation and updates of development plans, according to programmes’ needs. Translate Flight Physics Processes needs in terms of capability development into methods and tools specifications and validation.
  • Design, develop, and validate Flight Physics methods and tools.
  • Drive applications of M&T and define best practices to be used by business teams.
  • Ensure multidisciplinary integration of Flight Physics capabilities and ensure that solutions meet technical and user requirements.
  • Ensure operational services & support to Flight Physics teams. Supporting the definition and harmonisation of Flight Physics processes across programmes
  • Coordinate transversal tools development
  • Improving data structuring, exploitation and reporting to support technical and programme decisions

  • Education: Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of professional experience in the sector.
  • Soft skills: High adaptability to work on new topics, new business and in a networking mode.
  • Languages: Advanced level in English.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong expertise in flight physics, general aircraft design, and conceptual aircraft design.
  • Valuable / Nice to have: Advanced proficiency in Python. Proven experience in data analytics and model simulation.
