Job Description

Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Lean Manufacturing Expert (f/m) to join our Airbus Operating System (AOS) Department based in Toulouse, France .

You will be part of a team developing Airbus' global operational excellence framework (Airbus Operating System - AOS). As part of the Final Assembly Lines (FAL) central organization team, you will be involved in driving the deployment of industrial standards and continuous improvement methods aiming at maximizing value-added activities, eliminating waste, and securing sustainable long-term industrial performance.

Your working environment:

Global capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Ideally located between the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean and close to the Pyrenees mountains, it offers plenty of options for outdoor activities!

How we care for you:

  • Financial rewards: Attractive salary, agreements on success and profit sharing schemes, employee savings plan abounded by Airbus and employee stock purchase plan on a voluntary basis.
  • Work / Life Balance: Extra days-off for special occasions, holiday transfer option, a Staff council offering many social, cultural and sport activities and other services.
  • Wellbeing / Health: Complementary health insurance coverage (disability, invalidity, death). Depending on the site: health services center, concierge services, gym, carpooling application.
  • Individual development: Great upskilling opportunities and development prospects with unlimited access to +10.000 e-learning courses to develop your employability, certifications, expert career path, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility.

At Airbus, we support you to work, connect and collaborate more easily and flexibly. Wherever possible, we foster flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking.

Your challenges:

  • Drive the operational implementation and deployment of Lean / AOS standards across factories and FALs using a collaborative "we do, you do" empowerment approach.
  • Advise and coach business managers and change agents to foster an autonomous continuous improvement culture within production areas.
  • Assess industrial maturity and operational performance using structured Airbus Industrial evaluation diagnostics and checklists.
  • Lead or contribute to key cross-functional transformation projects requested by executive management (HO, COO, CEO) to ensure tangible business benefits.
  • Develop and update new Lean/AOS standards and brick methodologies using a structured 6-phase approach to meet strategic priorities.

Your boarding pass:

  • On-the-floor Factory Experience : At least 5 years of experience leading continuous improvement and Lean management initiatives. We are looking for a true shop-floor professional, not just a project manager. You have solid, practical experience rooted directly in a manufacturing/factory environment, with an automotive background being highly appreciated.
  • Technical Expertise : Proven expertise in implementing, optimizing, and designing hands-on industrial production processes side-by-side with operations.
  • Leadership & Coaching : Strong ability to drive change on the floor, train teams, challenge the status quo, and communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Proven capability to tackle complex shop-floor issues with a proactive mindset, strong active listening skills, and clear communication across all levels of the organization
  • Languages : Negotiation level in both English and French (business trips within Europe are to be expected).

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.
