Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Planner / PMO for Chief Engineering (f/m) to join our Design Office Department based in Marignane, France.

You will join the department in charge of delivering PMO services for all engineering activities for all Airbus helicopters.

Your challenges :

You will contribute to the following main activities:

  • Act as Planner on development projects and/or contracts (schedule creation ensuring full coverage of life-cycle, optimize the critical path... and support the project manager in schedule tracking and update
  • Monitor and control the project execution regarding schedule, costs, risks and opportunities and track project progress
  • Manage the entire development project lifecycle: scoping, work package management, change management, project closure
  • Animate regular contribution to company finance exercises like Sales & Operational
  • Plan, financial forecasts and Cost at/to Completion
  • Prepare risk status for ERM
  • Manage chief engineering contribution to enterprise risk management and engineering resource/ workload management


In this position you will gain an insight on all topics within the design organization from idea to the end-of-life of a helicopter program and are in close contact with all involved parties. You will get to know and play part in the processes of Engineering resource management and finance management of the perimeter you will be in charge. In consequence you will moreover get to understand processes on company level (e.g. Enterprise Risk Management, Strategy,
Program Management, etc.).

The competencies acquired in this position will qualify you perfectly for a subsequent activity as project manager e.g. in Engineering, Chief Engineering and Program Management.

Your profile:

  • Degree in Engineering / Business Management or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience as Project Management Officer or working in Program Management Office (PMO)
  • Experience in scheduling on engineering projects or contracts
  • Knowledge of development process, systems engineering, life cycle management and process actors at Airbus Helicopters are an advantage
  • Finance and Accounting experience; alternatively a good understanding of financial processes is required (budget management of projects/ programs)
  • Knowledge or experience of earned value management
  • Experience in project scheduling (e.g. OPX2, MS Project)
  • Experience in risk management (e.g. ARM)
  • Mastering PowerPoint and Excel, and Google Suite tools.
  • Knowledge of SAP PS
  • Able to analyze complex projects and implement project management practices to prepare decisions and counsel project and program managers
  • Team player with excellent communication skills (strong coordination and relational skills to deal with many different parties)
  • Autonomous, precise, reliable and solution-oriented attitude
  • Proactive and able to identify and realize improvements


Language skills :
English: fluent
French: fluent
German could be an advantage
