Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Embedded Cybersecurity & Avionics Software Development Engineer (f/h) to join our Avionics Software Team based in Toulouse, France.

Your challenges :

  • Lead and drive all mandatory Cyber Security activities (threat modeling, security requirements, implementation, verification, and formal demonstration) throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Act as the Cyber Security technical reference to mentor, train, and support the software team in adopting best practices for Secure Coding and secure design principles.
  • Propose resilient, reusable, and optimized security architectures and software solutions, ensuring the technical trade-off between customer requirements, security constraints, and real-time performance goals
  • Support the development of embedded real-time software following development process from the high-level specification analysis to the integration and the validation on the definitive hardware.
  • Achieve the integration and verification activities with the hardware using test means such as probes, bus analyzers and emulators.
  • Ensure the related support activity: failure report analysis, answer to technical requests.
  • Improve the ways of working; bring new design solutions and technologies.
  • Define, follow-up and receipt the subcontracted activities and deliverables, in conformity with the subcontracting management rules.
  • Manage your activities following the expected schedule, budget and quality.
  • Participate in the improvement of the Department performance.


Your boarding pass :

Secure Implementation in an aeronautical embedded context, including :

  • Implementation of robust embedded defense mechanisms
  • Secure Boot
  • Cryptographic Key Management
  • Hardware Root of Trust
  • Trusted Execution of Environment
  • Software Isolation


Proficiency in Offensive Security tools and methodologies :

  • Fuzzing,
  • Penetration Testing, and specialized SAST and DAST tools (Static and Dynamic Analysis Security Testing) for embedded systems.
  • Secure Coding
  • Core Cybersecurity and Certification Expertise: ED-203/DO-356A & ED-202A/DO-326A
  • Embedded Software Skills
  • Confirmed experience with the V-cycle of Critical Real-Time Software Development, especially with DO-178C certification constraints (DAL-A to DAL-E).
  • Programming languages: C in embedded context
  • Software engineering methods and tools (standard DEVOPS environment)
  • Strong critical analysis skills, proactivity, and the ability to clearly communicate and synthesize complex security issues for diverse audiences (developers, certification authorities, management)
