Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Electric Harness & Rack Manufacturing Industrial Architect (f/m) to join our Manufacturing Engineering team (OLMEM) based in Toulouse, France.

As an Industrial Architect, you will be accountable for delivering an industrial system fulfilling program targets of cost, rate, and flexibility through co-design/trades on technologies, aircraft architecture, and validating the airframe design to be in line with industrial requirements. You will act as the industrial chief engineer with the technical authority and will be a panel member of program reviews (industrial/design) during the development and implementation phase of the industrial system.

Your challenges :

  • Define and Validate Top Level Industrial Requirements and create the Industrial V&V plan, as the baseline for setting the entire industrial system solution, identifying and scheduling the means of compliance to conduct the verification.
  • Define, negotiate and integrate manufacturing requirements in the product design, challenge and validate the product definition dossier to secure the industrial targets.
  • Influence technology and R&D roadmaps, perform Technology Selection Mapping, to develop the most cost-effective and efficient technologies to be included in the Build Concept or Industrial Trades.
  • Define Build Concept, in order to establish the baseline architecture of an integrated industrial system, including the industrial structure breakdown, the definition of main material flow, the interfaces between factories and the logistic concept, up to the extended enterprise level.
  • Define Conceptually the Industrial System, defining a first concept of the industrial means to be used for serial production, performing industrial trade-off studies about different concepts and providing conceptual harmonized solutions.
  • Assess the industrial performances linked to the industrial concept, considering workload sizing, lead-time assessment (cycle time and critical path identification), rate & ramp-up, industrial costs RC (considering the main production operations) & NRC (considering the number of stations, main jigs, tools and machines, as well as the conceptual plant layout).
  • Identify improvement opportunities, analyse the current situation and potential benefits, apply lean principles by selection of appropriate approaches, methods and tools, and lead or contribute (at expected level according to responsibilities, role or perimeter) to deliver business improvements.
  • Develop methods, improve process and operate within a digital tool environment, to define the industrial system and to co-design airframe architecture to fulfil the program objectives.
  • Support Make or Buy, contributing in defining the industrial strategy and performing industrial assessment of potential suppliers in the selection process.
  • Be a key actor with a leadership role, interacting with Programs, Plants & FALs, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Finance organizations, capable to deliver a broad view on industrial Standard and Competition.


Your boarding pass :

  • Background: Manufacturing engineering (harness manufacturing or electrical system installation) , Manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience: Industrial system design , Industrial model based system engineering and simulation, Industrial development process, Airframe design and technologies (functional electric and system installation).
  • Soft Skills: Creativity , Autonomy , Leadership (cross functional).
