Design Engineer - Structural Repair Manual (SRM)

Job Description:

We analyze aircraft structure, create generic repair procedures, perform stress analysis and publish Structure Repair Manual (SRM) documentation for the Nose and Center Fuselage as well as Powerplant and Wings for all AIRBUS standards. Our team specializes in the Structural Repair Manual (SRM), a crucial document enabling airlines to dispatch and repair aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
Repair Design & Definition: Design repairs and define Allowable Damage Limits (ADL's) for composite and/or metallic damage sustained, including the repair of major structural components.
Provide optimized, practical design/engineering repair solutions that satisfy airline customer requirements for efficiency and ease of embodiment.
Support all internal interfacing departments (such as Aero Dynamics, Lightning Strike and M&P).
Regularly liaise with international Airbus departments, including Fatigue & Damage Tolerance, Static Stress, Aerodynamics, M&P, and the Authoring team.
Support and implement initiatives for change management to improve overall team efficiency, with a particular emphasis on methods and process optimization.

Required Skills & Expertise:
Knowledge of aircraft structures (composite and/or metallic).
Robust engineering understanding and conversant with the technical requirements for designing repairs and setting ADL’s.
Ability to read, interrogate, and utilize engineering drawings and associated published Airbus documentation (SRM, AMM, IPC, design/maintenance manuals).
Ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.
Experience interrogating Airbus documentation relating to aircraft release to service.
