Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Data Governance & Compliance Responsible (Business & Policy Focus) - (NGSA) (m/f) to join our Digital For Operation department based in Toulouse.
You will join the Digital for Operation department, the cornerstone of our industrial transformation. Within this department, our goal is to simplify, streamline, prioritize, and unlock the full potential of the latest digital technologies for the benefit of our operations.
The modern industrial landscape is marked by immense challenges: massive production ramp-ups, rapid technological acceleration, and the inherent complexity of integrating transverse ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) deployments across diverse sites. In this role, you will be the voice of data governance for your business community. Your primary mission is to ensure that as we connect to the "Extended Enterprise" (suppliers, partners) and leverage various cloud providers, our data remains secure, well-governed, and strictly compliant with Airbus’s data sensitivity rules, international export control laws, and national security requirements. You will help transition the organization from restrictive command-and-control governance to an agile, trust-based model that empowers users while protecting sensitive intellectual property.

Ideally located between the Mediterranean s ea and the Atlan tic ocean and close to the Pyrenees mountains, it offers plenty of options for outdoor acti vities!

At Airbus, we support you to work, connect and collaborate more easily and flexibly. Wherever possible, we foster flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking.
Your challenges:
- Business Liaison & Requirements Gathering: Act as the key representative for your business community within the Multi-Functional Team (MFT). Lead in-depth workshops to gather critical user stories, translate complex operational and compliance needs into data requirements, and communicate emerging capabilities back to stakeholders.
- Platform Evaluation & Testing: Actively participate in the evaluation, hands-on testing, and functional assessment of SAP S/4 Cloud, as well as alternative solutions (e.g., Palantir, AWS, Google Gemini) through targeted Proofs of Concept (POCs).
- Data Lineage & Traceability: Evaluate advanced data lineage tools to effectively track data provenance from the initial engineering design phase in Dassault 3DX PLM down to final manufacturing execution in the SAP ecosystem.
- Adaptive Policy & Compliance Enforcement: Define and apply adaptive data governance policies that balance regulatory compliance (Export Control, Defense Classification, ITAR/EAR) with the need for agile collaboration across the Extended Enterprise (Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers). Test robust access control mechanisms (dynamic data masking, ABAC).
- Fit-to-Standard & Quality Assurance: Investigate capabilities for Master Data Management (MDM) and data quality to resolve ambiguities in core entities (part numbers, plant models). Ensure all developments align with our "Fit-to-Standard" approach to minimize local customization while putting operational efficiency at the heart of everything.
- Innovation & Computational Governance: Explore the application of AI-driven automation (e.g., Google Gemini, SAP Joule) for continuous policy execution, anomaly detection, and automated metadata tagging.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate hand-in-hand with our IM (Information Management) department, external SAP experts, and site operations. You don't just "talk tech"-you distill complex data governance and SAP logics into clear, business-driven concepts to find the right compromise between system standards and business value. Compromise finder is a key word for your position.
Your boarding pass:
- Background in Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Management, or Logistics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex, highly regulated industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, or Defense.
- Strong foundational understanding of data governance principles, data sensitivity classification (e.g., Airbus RED/AMBER), and strict compliance regulations (Export Control, ITAR/EAR, National Security).
- Proven experience in complex industrial end-to-end flows (e.g., Manufacture-to-Stock, Design-to-Order). General conceptual understanding of ERP and PLM systems; advanced knowledge of SAP S/4 Cloud or Dassault 3DX is a significant plus.
- Capable of writing and executing functional test cases to validate that data security, user isolation, and governance policies are fully respected within mock-up environments.
- A "Connector" mindset with high learning agility. Eager to explore new technologies (Generative AI, modern cloud platforms) with a talent for finding compromises, challenging legacy ways of working, and navigating Agile/SAFe methodologies.
Global Mobility: Fluency in English (German and/or French is a strong plus) and a willingness to travel (~20%) to stay connected with our global production sites
