Job Title/Role : C295 Ground Support Equipment Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, technically proficient, and experienced Airbus C295 Military Aircraft Ground Support Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for the Airbus Military fleet across its operational network in India. This pivotal role acts as the primary technical liaison between the company and the Customer, ensuring optimal GSE serviceability, efficient maintenance, calibration and operations, and timely resolution of all GSE-related issues. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong coordination skills, a deep understanding of GSE maintenance, and experience managing partnerships with technical external partners.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications Required (QRs)

The Airbus Military Aircraft Ground Support Manager will be responsible for the following core functions:

I. Customer and Stakeholder Liaison

  • Daily Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining daily liaison with the Customer to discuss GSE status, operational needs, and address any immediate concerns.
  • Unscheduled Query Resolution: Handle and resolve unscheduled queries from the Customer promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Resolve Queries with OEM Recommendations , utilizing official documentation and expert guidance to provide accurate and lasting solutions.
  • Reporting: Share Weekly Reports with Customer , compiling comprehensive summaries of GSE status, maintenance progress, and updates on personnel/staffing where relevant.


II. GSE Management, Monitoring, and Maintenance

  • Serviceability and Maintenance Oversight: Continuously monitor the serviceability and maintenance planning of Ground Support Equipment (GSEs) , systematically categorizing them based on current condition and maintenance status.
  • Proactive Equipment Support: Ensure self availability during the operation of GSEs . Be proactive in clearing doubts and providing assistance to IAF personnel regarding GSE operations .


  • Hands-on Maintenance Support (Case-by-Case): Provide support in Maintenance on a case-to-case basis . This includes but is not limited to GPU inspection, lubrication, filter replacements, and other maintenance tasks, or assembly of docks/tooling.
  • Joint Receipt Inspection (JRI): Attendance of Joint Receipt Inspection (JRI) for new or repaired GSE/tooling to ensure compliance with specifications.


III. OEM and External Partner Management

  • OEM Collaboration: Collaborate with local and foreign OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and approved external vendors for specialized GSE Maintenance, Repair, and Calibration services, ensuring all work adheres to technical specifications and schedules.
  • Issue Tracking and Follow-up: Keep Track of Pending Issues by maintaining a detailed log of unresolved queries or tasks with OEMs or internal departments. This ensures timely follow-up and resolution , especially for issues requiring spares or OEM instructions.


IV. Documentation, Data Integrity, and Internal Support

  • Equipment Data Management: Gather Equipment Data to ensure the availability of necessary documentation. Proactively highlight missing documents to internal departments .
  • Verification and Record Keeping: Verify maintenance requirements according to manuals , and systematically record calibration and maintenance dates for all critical GSE.
  • Base Coordination: Coordinate the activities of all GSE managers located in the rest of the bases , standardizing processes and sharing best practices across the entire fleet's operational network.
  • Supply Chain Support: Support to supply chain and material colleagues by building up the Repair Notification (RN) of GSE to be calibrated or repaired , facilitating the efficient flow of logistics and materials.


Desirable Qualifications and Requirements

Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience in the field of aerospace maintenance, ground support equipment management, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for military aircraft programs or similar tactical transport aircraft is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with military ground handling and maintenance operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in vendor management and coordination with technical external partners (local and foreign).
  • Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, or avionics systems.
  • Selected candidates will be required to undergo required security clearances prior to selection and deployment at customer premises.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
  • Relevant professional certifications or diplomas in maintenance management or ground support operations are a plus.


Core Competencies

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities across different bases, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Ability to travel frequently across India to various operational bases as required.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to work flexible hours as dictated by operational needs.

This position will involve providing support for client locations.
