An opportunity for an Airframe Structural Design Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid) . The selected candidate will join the Military Derivatives Team (Air Power) . We are building a brand-new team inside an exciting and challenging new upcoming military Program that will help reinforce Spanish and European sovereignty. The team works in a collaborative, multicultural, and multidisciplinary environment focused on the launch and execution of ambitious military aircraft derivatives projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Design and develop structural aircraft components, assemblies, installations, and design solutions for A/C Derivatives programs using Catia V5, CSG Full3D, and modern design processes and tools.
- Establish design principles, Key Characteristics Design, interfaces, frontiers, interface points, materials, and detailed manufacturing process definitions.
- Participate actively in concurrent engineering processes with industrial and production teams with a customer-oriented approach throughout the end-to-end product lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with other Engineering Design offices (stress, analysis, loads, systems installation, armament, materials & processes, aerodynamics, DMU/CAD) to continuously refine interfaces.
- Manage and coordinate internal team members and external subcontracting companies.
- Provide technical support to various internal and external stakeholders (supply chain, quality, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, production, airworthiness, certification, and qualification).
