Job Description:

A vacancy for a Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Stress Specialist for Engineering in-service solutions has arisen within Airbus Operations in Getafe.

Who is the 1SAT1 RFE Daily Repair Team?

The RFE repair team in Getafe, thanks to the support of our various Repair Centers in North America, India and China, ensures, for the entire Airbus fleet, a 24/7 support to Airlines requesting repair solutions not covered by the Structural Repair Manual (SRM).

The Daily Repairs are related to the day to day operations of our customers and are activities in the very short term (usually a few hours to give an answer and send approval documents).

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • You are customer oriented.
  • You are a collaborative profile.
  • Perform Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis for repairs according to validated methods.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines.
  • Analysis of damage reports to understand the route cause and find the repair solution.
  • Interpretation and knowledge in NDT.
  • Interface and communicate with relevant stakeholders (suppliers and customers).
  • Provide certification documents for the repair/acceptance of damaged structures.
  • Basic knowledge of airworthiness regulations.

  • Education: Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in Structural Analysis Engineering
  • Soft skills: High adaptability to work on new topics, new business and in a networking mode.
  • Languages: Advanced level in English.
  • Technical knowledge: Sound knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of aerospace structures and tools (ISAMI, FEM,...).
  • Valuable / Nice to have: Experience in structural design principles and tools.
