WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN AIRCRAFT PAINTER

POSITION LOCATION: FORT ERIE, ONTARIO

The Aircraft Painter is responsible for ensuring all painting duties on the aircraft are performed efficiently and in accordance with Airbus Helicopters process specifications and procedures. The Painter is also responsible for applying any aircraft designs/stripes to the aircraft as per customer direction. Aircraft painter also supports DCR and Metallic manufacturing with painting operations as required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Painting Aircraft

  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with Airbus Helicopters process specifications and procedures
  • Follow and complete all work according to work orders and Quality inspections.
  • Sanding and masking aircraft and aircraft parts in preparation for paint.
  • Applying painting to the aircraft according to ATP’s and customers paint scheme
  • Determine whether substrate is an acceptable base for paint
  • Ensuring masked areas are not to be painted
  • Cleaning areas with recommended solvents in accordance with AH specifications
  • Blowing dust off aircraft with compressed air and tack cloths before paint process to ensure clean surface.
  • Upon completion of paint process perform final buffing, polishing and touch ups of Aircraft for any imperfections.


Aircraft Paint Scheme and Colour Confirmation

  • Mix and spray colour samples for customer confirmation
  • Perform paint scheme layout on the Aircraft according to ATP and customer requirements.
  • Line and mask Aircraft in accordance with ATP paint scheme.
  • Support Programs dept with confirming customer requirements for exterior finish of aircraft


Support Metallic and DCR depts. For Paint Requirements

  • Perform paint process on metallic parts in accordance with AH specifications
  • Perform paint process on DCR parts in accordance with AH specifications
  • Support Aircraft completions on painting any miscellaneous parts requiring paint.


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • 3 years’ experience painting
  • Experience in the aerospace industry preferred
  • Automotive and Collision Damage Repairer License an asset


Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Ability to wear steel toe footwear, face mask, Safety glasses/goggles, face shield, coveralls, gloves, ear plugs/ear muffs , and respirator
  • Must be a team player
  • Eye for detail
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to use judgment in order to solve common problems
  • Self-starter
  • Able to use various hand tools such as a sanders, paint guns, polishers etc


Other:

  • May be subject to a security assessment under the Controlled Goods Program.
