Job Description

Job Description:

Join us to be part of the new Airbus UpNext strategic demonstrator paving the future of Aircraft Connectivity.

This demonstrator will accelerate the development of new technologies to bring tangible learnings to the business.

Designed as a talent incubator, Airbus UpNext is a place where you can act and think like a startup while building on the strong expertise of Airbus, a place where you are empowered to challenge and test new processes and ways of working.

This position comes with a limited contract (CDI-C) linked to the deliverable of the demo (estimated end date - end of February 2028), starting ASAP.

As the Lead AI, Video Analytics and Aircraft Integration Engineer, you will be working with the demonstrator team to develop vision based solutions on our different test/integration benches.

There are several industrial benches to be managed in this scope: ground / air / road benches, it is key to ensure the consistency between them.

This position is based in Toulouse, and we will collaborate with teams across Europe and an international partnership landscape.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership of the technical architecture for moving the prototype from the lab to the aircraft: embedded or edge inference, latency and power budgets, and a deployable, updatable runtime.
  • Integrate the cameras and the on-board compute platform, and define the interfaces with other aircraft systems.
  • Build the validation process: reference datasets, metrics and calibration for the target installation.
  • Lead the introduction of new algorithms and new sensors, including multi-sensor fusion.
  • Set the engineering standards: testing, reproducibility, model versioning, CI. Guide and review the work of the junior computer vision engineer.
