The new Airbus UpNext demonstrator Optimate is paving the way for more autonomous flight capacity by integrating innovative technologies, including computer vision.

We are looking for a motivated intern to join us for 5-6 months, starting ASAP, end of the internship end of September 2026 ( the end of the demo).

Main Missions:

One of the primary validation tools for Optimate (our autonomous flight demonstrator) is a closed-loop simulation bench capable of simulating perception sensors such as Cameras and LiDAR.

Your mission will focus on software integration and validation within a dynamic team of test engineers and computer vision specialists. You will:

  • Integrate diverse operational scenarios into the simulator.
  • Tune and refine these scenarios to ensure high-fidelity testing.
  • Validate Perception algorithms against simulated environments.
  • Analyze results and propose adaptations to improve performance.
  • Critique the design to drive continuous improvement.


Your Boarding Pass:

  • Education: Master’s degree (or currently enrolled) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Aeronautics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python .
    • Background in Computer Vision or Data Analytics .
    • Experience with simulation tools or aerospace systems is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Fluent in English (Professional working proficiency).
    • A "hands-on" problem solver with a desire to execute rapidly without compromising safety or ethics.
    • An enterprising team player who thrives in changing, fast-paced environments.
    • A commitment to transparency, humility, and empathy.
