AI Decision Making Research Engineer (M/F)

Job Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a AI Decision Making Research Engineer (f/m) to join our Technology labs team based in Boulogne-Billancourt (Paris) , France .

As an expert in artificial intelligence and decision methods, you will be involved in R&D work aimed at supporting providing novel decision-making tools for all domains of interest using Artificial Intelligence and operations research techniques.

This work will primarily be conducted at a specific site in Boulogne-Billancourt. You will be integrated into an engineering team responsible for designing and developing future defense systems capable of exceeding our clients' expectations.

Your challenges:

• Contribute to the team's work, research, and architecture work
  
• Lead projects within the team
  
• Design, develop, test, and integrate software application modules into the laboratory's platforms
  
• Integrate the basic AI and optimization solutions for demonstration or proof of concept (PoC) purposes
  
• Help integrate solutions in customer premises and subject to specific constraints or existing systems
  
• Contribute to the evolution of the laboratory environment, networking and recognition both internally within Airbus group and externally
  
• Lead the writing and publication of scientific articles and patents
  
• Ensure continuous technological watch
  
• Collaborate with academic partners and supervise PhD students.
  

Your profile:

• Min 10 years of professional experience
  
• Programming languages: C++, Python, Java
  
• Mathematical programming / constraint programming solves: Gurobi, OR-Tools, ...
  
• Environment: Linux Ubuntu / Centos, Mac OS X
  
• Virtualization : VMware, Docker
  
• Development environment: git, vscode
  
• Mathematical programming/Optimization (continuous, combinatorial, etc.), Metaheuristics (evolutionary algorithms, ...)
  
• Reinforcement Learning, and other statistical methods (e.g., Bayesian networks, Markov chains, ...)
  
• General computer science concepts including strong knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and graph theory
  
• Software Development and software architecture
  
• Machine learning models including supervised, non-supervised and time series forecasting (e.g., SVN, XGBoost, GNN, VAE, GAN, LSTM, ARIMA, LLMs, ...)
  
• Computer communications and related telecommunication knowledge, including in the field of satellite communication, and softwarized networks, protocol stacks
  
• Knowledge of military operations, notions on NATO doctrine and related concepts
  
• An advanced spoken and written English is required.
  

You must hold French nationality in accordance with IGI 1300 of 30/11/2011 (Article 65), as this position requires a security clearance or eligibility for a clearance by the recognized authorities.
