Our Aerodynamic test facilities in Bremen are a key asset for Airbus and the Aerodynamics department. They contain a low speed wind tunnel and an Aerodynamics laboratory driven by a high pressurized air system with a flexible structure to conduct multiple experiments of different kind of nature. We are proud of our unique position as a competence center for turbine powered engine simulators. If you have a practical mindset, with hands-on experience of maintaining plant equipment and you are passionate about precision engineering this role could be for you.

Your tasks and responsibilities

The jobholder is responsible for specific developments and test arrangements to enable "propulsion simulation" in experiments. This includes the design of engine simulators & the integration and assembly of these into the wind tunnel model. The definition of measurement techniques & methodologies for performance investigations and the execution of tests are also in the portfolio of this position.

Specific requirements:

  • You should bring Aerodynamics & thermodynamic knowledge and experience.
  • You need mechanical design skills in CATIA, including stress calculations (static & dynamic).
  • Test engineering knowledge is required.
  • You should be proficient in the design and characterisation of turbo machinery.
  • You need mechanical skills to assemble and operate these turbo machinery devices.


General requirements:

  • You should have profound knowledge & interest in Aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and experimental engineering.
  • We expect hands-on abilities, preferably with model build experience, and a pragmatic approach.
  • You must be willing to travel to Airbus Sites and external testing facilities and research partners / suppliers.
  • You need organizational talent for spare parts & repairs & maintenance.
  • We are looking for a team player in a transnational and highly multiskilled team.
