Aero-Acoustic Engineer (d/f/m)


The Loads, Aeroelasticity and Acoustics Domain is part of the Flight Physics Centre of Competence at Airbus Defence and Space. Our mission is to design, analyse, certify, qualify, maintain into service and ensure the continued airworthiness of all the airvehicles developed within Airbus Defence and Space. Functions and Responsibilities of the Acoustics and Vibration Domain are Equipment and Store Qualification, External and Internal Noise Design and Development, Ground Test and Laboratory Activities, Support of Flight Test Campaigns.
Main Aircraft Programmes are Eurofighter, Tornado, Eurodrone and FCAS.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

As Aero-Acoustic Engineer you will be responsible for the Aero-Acoustic Development of Unmanned and future Combat Aircraft. Your role within the Acoustics and Vibration Team will be to:

  • Provide aero-acoustic solutions through simulations and tests in order to ensure and demonstrate compliance of the vehicle to relevant certification noise regulations or qualification requirements.
  • Conduct acoustics design and research activities related to the vehicle and to any of its components and systems to ensure fulfillment of acoustic requirements and customer expectations, covering the full product life cycle (concept, development, in service trouble shooting).
  • Contribute to the reduction of the aircraft noise footprint.
  • Promote innovation and contribute to the definition of noise requirements for future Airbus products.


Desired skills and qualifications:

  • M.Sc in Aeronautic Engineering. PhD in Aero-Acoustics would be an advantage.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience on the field Aero-Acoustics.
  • Experience in Vibro-Acoustics Simulations.
  • Experience with Acoustics Measurements.
  • Experience with Optimisation Processes would be an advantage.
  • 3ds PowerFLOW and PowerACOUSTICS would be an advantage.
  • Matlab.
  • Python would be an advantage.
  • Actran would be an advantage.
  • Nastran would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a multinational Team.
  • Problem Solving attitude & capability of working in autonomy.
  • Fluent English. German would be an advantage.
