Job Description:
Airbus is looking for a Summer Intern - Human Resources to join our HR Team based in Kinston, NC .
In this role you’ll get exposure to multiple areas of our site HR team spanning across HR Operations, Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, and other areas.

Working in our Human Resources department, it’s our mission to help support Airbus’ greatest assets: our team members. Our team works cross-departmentally as well as with our global counterparts to ensure we are making a positive impact on all aspects of our employee experience.
Your Working Environment:
The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.
Program Highlights:
- Participation in the Summer 2027 Intern Program: May 17th - August 6th 2027
- Intern project focused on supporting our Positive Employee Relations (PER) Team in preparing our site for further expansion and growth
- Dedicated project mentor
- Project presentation with executive team and CEO roundtable discussion
Your Challenges:
Administrative: 70%
- Assist with the HR/People Operations administrations to include recruitment, on boarding, administrative paperwork, drug & alcohol program, etc.
- Create/maintain files: personnel, benefit, and electronic job folders, etc.
- Create/maintain PO/PR for HR, etc.
- Data entry into ADP/SAP/LMS
- Assist with employee questions
- Prepare outgoing mail/shipments; order supplies
- Send birthday cards and/or sympathy memorials
Compliance: 15%
- Schedule and track 90-day performance reviews
- Monthly reports, as needed
Employee Event Planning: 15%
- Assist with Service awards and birthday celebrations
- Assist with Employee Engagement Events
- Assist with Diversity and Inclusion events, as necessary
Additional Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Boarding Pass:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant college/university degree program, required
- Seeking degree in Human Resources, preferred
- Able to work onsite in Kinston, NC for duration of Summer Internship, required
- Skilled in the use of computer/programs to include Microsoft/Google Suite of products
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers
- Must be well organized and have good time management skills
Ability to work in the US without current or future need for sponsorship/work authorization is required for this job opportunity.
Physical Requirements:
- Onsite: 100%
- Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily.
- Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily.
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Required daily.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment. Required daily.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
- Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
- Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Rarely required.
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Required daily.
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Required infrequently.
- Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Required daily.
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Approximately 5% - 10%.
- Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Required daily.
- Personal Protective Equipment required: steel toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
