Job Description

Working at Adaptavist
The Adaptavist Group is a global family of companies with a common goal. We combine the best of teamwork, technology, and processes, helping all kinds of businesses be better today and tomorrow.
We are experts at delivering enterprise software, tailored solutions, and quality services across some of the world’s most trusted technology ecosystems, including Atlassian, AWS, Slack, GitLab, Monday.com and Aha!
We make change happen. From anywhere.
About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Data Protection and Privacy Manager to lead our global data compliance initiatives and safeguard customer data rights.
This role is central in embedding a culture of data protection, data privacy and security across The Adaptavist Group (TAG) and its brands worldwide.
You will drive the development and implementation of data privacy policies, manage data subject requests, and ensure compliance with global data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA. Your ability to shape policies and respond swiftly and effectively in critical situations will empower TAG to operate responsibly and innovate confidently
About the team
You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking group dedicated to balancing legal compliance with our organisational goals, based out of Wiesbaden in Germany. Working closely with teams across IT, Legal, Marketing, and beyond, you’ll ensure data privacy and protection are integrated into everything we do.
Our team thrives on shared knowledge, continuous improvement, and making a tangible difference in how data is handled.

Some of the things you'll do

  • Champion Privacy Compliance: Establish and maintain a global privacy governance framework, ensuring adherence to GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations.
  • Mitigate Risks: Conduct Privacy and Data Protection Impact Assessments (PIAs and DPIAs), identify privacy risks, and embed privacy by design in all initiatives.
  • Respond Effectively: Lead the data breach response process, ensuring swift investigation, compliant reporting, and effective resolution.
  • Customer Response: Experience communicating with customers on data-related matters, including violations of data policies.
  • Empower the Organisation: Develop and deliver engaging training sessions, fostering awareness and compliance across the organisation.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to critically assess privacy risks and implement strategic solutions, taking a balanced view between commercial awareness and risk management.
  • Manage Data Subject Rights: Handle requests for data access, deletion, and portability while ensuring compliance with marketing preferences and cookie consent management.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with external partners and internal stakeholders to align privacy practices with emerging technologies, data residency requirements, and global trends.
  • Monitor and Improve: Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance and enhance data protection strategies.

What we're looking for

  • Deep understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy frameworks.
  • Proven track record in a data protection, compliance, or privacy-focused role within an international context.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing data privacy policies, conducting DPIAs/PIAs, and managing data breaches.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach, working seamlessly with departments like Legal, IT, Marketing, and HR.
  • Analytical mindset to assess risks and craft balanced solutions aligning commercial and compliance needs.
  • Fluent in English and German communication and writing skills.

A few nice to haves

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), or similar certifications.
  • Familiarity with contract law related to data sharing and vendor compliance.
  • Proficiency in data security tools and privacy engineering principles.
  • SaaS background, AWS exposure.
