The role:

As Junior Systems Engineer you’ll be responsible for supporting, maintaining and developing the core systems infrastructure that the 15below platform is built upon, including:

  • Primary support for the internal infrastructure and the 15below platform cloud infrastructure
  • Day to day troubleshooting and support of Microsoft Server products
  • Monitoring of performance and status of Server environments
  • Configuration and maintenance of production, test, and development environments
  • Network administration and configuration across multiple remote sites
  • Performance tuning and resource optimization as required
  • Support for 15below users working remotely or in the UK office including laptop/PC provisioning
  • Regular security reviews and Application/Operating System patching across the 15below estate
  • Research, recommend and implement solutions to improve the 15below infrastructure and processes

Requirements

The kind of person you are:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a first/second line Technical Support role supporting Microsoft Server Operating Systems including core domain services e.g. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Microsoft Office365 Administration
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to own issues and projects to successful delivery and beyond the go-live implementation
  • Self-drive to identify and suggest solutions to key infrastructure components
  • Interest in cloud hosting solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure
  • Continual consideration of security and stability with any implementation or planned changes
  • Most importantly you’ll be focused on what you need to achieve, whilst knowing how to have some fun
  • Thrives on solving problems, loves grappling with complexity and can make the most difficult concepts easy to understand using sincere and clear communication skills
  • Has a friendly ‘Can do’ attitude
  • Collaborates effectively with other disciplines and can be trusted to deliver

Skills to impress:

  • Understanding of virtualisation concepts and technologies e.g. VMWare
  • Experience supporting and managing Linux Server
  • Experience supporting and configuring networking technologies
  • Understanding of concepts and experience configuring Firewalls
  • Cloud concepts and technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Containerisation technologies e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Intune and Defender
  • Experience with scripting e.g., Windows PowerShell, Bash, Node.js
  • Understanding of ITIL framework
