The role:
As Head of Product, you’ll be responsible for:
- Bringing the 15below Product Vision to life and evolving high-level roadmaps in line with business growth targets and direction.
- Being a product evangelist to drive the future of 15below products and commercial success.
- Developing commercially-driven Product strategy in line with other company strategies.
- Representing 15below at relevant trade and industry events, providing Thought Leadership in travel communications and demonstrating the value of 15below products.
- Managing stakeholders and communication to customers and internally.
- Determining how we do Product @ 15below in collaboration with other teams.
- Developing and implementing a company-wide plan to launch new products, working with all departments to deliver.
- Managing existing products including:
- Assuming Product Manager responsibilities for some key projects.
- Creating new product developments, and gaining buy-in from the Senior Management Team with clearly articulated business cases and achievable return on investment opportunities.
- Managing the entire product line life cycle (concept to phasing out) from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Specifying requirements for current and future products, working with customers and internal teams to define and refine product requirements.
- Individual Product Strategies - manage existing product.
- Providing demos of new product features to customers to maximise their engagement and aid the sales process.
- Increasing profitability and ensuring predicted ROI is realised.
- Building relationships with other teams in 15below.
- Identifying and assessing potential partner relationships for the products.
- Develop and manage relationships with customers, and creating forums for Customer involvement in Product discovery.
- Development and execution of tactical plans.
- Being responsible for Product systems.
- Maintaining industry and product knowledge, and keeping up to date with market and technological trends.
Managing the Product Team
- Identifying and implementing appropriate structure, roles and responsibilities.
- Creating and leading a high performing team of product managers capable of delivering the product roadmap including:
- Employing effective people management skills to engage, motivate and drive excellent individual and team performance.
- Identifying skill gaps and arranging suitable learning and development opportunities for team members.
- Fostering collaboration and communication amongst team members and creating an atmosphere where all team members can fulfil their potential.
- Planning, assigning and directing workloads of product managers.
Requirements
The kind of person you are:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager, including line management experience.
- Demonstrable achievements in defining and launching commercially successful products.
- 5+ years in the travel industry including experience of Reservation Systems / GDS (at least one of Amadeus, Sabre or Navitaire).
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills aligned to audience needs.
- Experience of working with international clients.
- Experience of a SaaS type environment .
- Experience of working with a commercial software company including working with a range of different types of projects from pure 15below funded product developments through to customer funded developments.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership and scope negotiation skills.
- Strong facilitation and mediation skills.
Skills to impress:
- BSc/BA in a business or technical discipline or equivalent.
- Experience working with third-party APIs and web service interfaces.
- Experience of messaging systems
