Flexible working approach
Mission Labs is truly a flexible place to work. Our flexible working approach is built on trust – we have some colleagues working 100% remotely, some who use hybrid working and some who love coming into our offices pretty much every day. We love a good meet up face-to-face and we can't wait to be able to do this properly over a coffee (or beers!) and usually some food! We don't have a tracking system in place to record hours (no spreadsheets here!) and we don't like a big brother approach – we want to empower people to manage their hours, but with communication being key. If you can't be around, just give your team a heads up.
Our flexi-time policy encourages everyone to have a good work-life balance, whether you're a developer, a director, or a sales executive. Family time is important, so most people use it for the school run, appointments, or to simply catch up with friends by having a cheeky early Friday finish.
Pooches are also part of the Mission Labs family – we love meeting our furry friends, which is why we have a dog friendly office!

Scoring against our flexibility index (1 = not at all flexible, 100 = couldn’t be more flexible, 51 is average) using a number of parameters to assess flexibility such as working from home, hours, frequency of travel, benefits, etc.
Scoring against our employee perception index (1 = not seen as flexible, 100 = couldn’t be happier with the flexibility, 51 is average) using a number of more emotional / perception based questions to understand whether employees feel supported and offered what they want. The areas we cover are work-life balance / managerial support / flexible benefits / working environment / and many others.
"I have worked at companies doing 'flexi' before (not real flexi - you'd be given a funny look if you actually wanted to use it), however Mission Labs is truly the first place I've been to, who really do respect the term. I find myself consistently and inherently surprised by truly how relaxed and understanding ML are. They advocate free time, mental health breaks, breaking your days up if you're remote working, all of it. To my knowledge, we aren't tracked on a day-to-day (hourly) basis. What do we think of Mission Labs?
It's been a pleasure taking Mission Labs through Flexa's accreditation to see whether they are a truly flexible employer. They started out the gate with a far above average employer benchmark score, and where we would see the anonymous employee benchmark score slightly lower in common circumstances, their employees actually superseded them!
