At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. What you’ll be doing…

Transactional Communications are a critical part of the customer experience at Verizon. They provide confirmations, deliver information about products and services, and generally serve as a guide for the customer throughout their lifetime at Verizon. These communications lower call volumes, drive revenue, improve the customer experience and increase loyalty. Working in transactional communications is one of the best ways to get exposure to many parts of the business and understand the inner workings of Verizon.

As a Consultant on our Transactional Communication team within the Digital Marketing and Base Management function, you will be assisting with the creation of transactional campaigns, from discovery through design, development, and deployment. In many cases you will own almost all of the day-to-day work, with the ability to steer the direction of all aspects of the project. You will interact with business stakeholders across the business, agency creative, and development teams on all tactical elements of the communications, including requirements development, timelines, creative design, approvals, and development and testing. You will be directly supported by an experienced communications manager, as well as work together with project management, data strategy, technology, and legal to design, create, and execute successful communications and best in class customer experiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering best-in-class post-transaction or event-driven communications experiences, managing many communications end-to-end, or playing an assisting role with more complex communications.

  • Helping translate business stakeholder requirements into a clear and concise communications strategy.

  • Writing and/or editing requirements documentation that precisely describes communication copy, design, and technical requirements.

  • Working with project management to shepherd requirements through development, acting as the first point-of-contact to address any issues.

  • Assisting with QA, defect resolution and research requests.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects under tight timelines with attention to detail.

  • Marketing experience with a customer experience focus.

  • Copywriting and/or editing experience.

  • Experience with and/or knowledge of the technical aspects of 1:1 communications, such as dynamic data, triggering and orchestration systems.

  • Experience with project management and related tools (e.g. JIRA).

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Expertise in customer communications architecture and processes.

  • Experience with commercial marketing tools (Adobe Campaign, Adobe Experience Manager, Responsys, and/or Salesforce).

  • Experience building CRM communications programs with multiple data sources.

  • Experience managing external partners and agencies.

  • Digital Marketing experience.

  • Experience with commercial marketing software and/or tools.

  • Knowledge of agile development process.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
