What you’ll be doing...
Leadership & Strategy:
Championing SRE principles for VZ Global Infrastructure & promote SRE best practices within the organization
Goal setting aligned to the SRE team’s objectives
Building and mentoring a high-performing team: Recruit, Train, and Coach SRE engineers.
Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with Infrastructure engineering, Automation team, Infrastructure Operations, Analytics & GenAI and product teams to ensure system reliability and innovation
Leading the AIOPS global infrastructure which includes server, storage, NW, Cloud, Containers and other Datacenter functions
Technical Responsibilities:
Overseeing incident management: Lead the response to major outages and ensure timely resolution.
Monitoring and observability: Establish systems to track system health and performance
Automating infrastructure and deployments: Drive automation efforts to eliminate toil and improve reliability
Ensuring Security and compliance: Implement security measures on infrastructure systems and ensure compliance to organizational standards & policies
Continuous Improvement:
Conducting post-incident reviews: Analyze root causes of incidents and implement preventative measures to ensure business continuity
Promoting a culture of learning: Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
Staying up-to-date with industry trends: Calibrate & keep abreast of the latest SRE practices and technologies
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have :
Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience
Twenty years of experience in Infrastructure management, IT support, or service management.
Ten or more years of professional experience in Full Stack Development,, DevOps, Observability & Infrastructure Support (Server, Storage & Network)
Excellent knowledge of observability ecosystems including metrics, logging, tracing, and tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack etc.
One or more years of hands-on experience in New Relic, Catchpoint or any other monitoring/AIOPS tools at an enterprise level
Deep understanding of SRE principles: Experience in core tenets of SRE, including automation, monitoring, incident management, performance optimization & self healing systems
Experience with major cloud providers like AWS or GCP is crucial, along with knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge in AI implementations across Operations
Leadership experience in infrastructure engineering & support practices
Knowledge in cloud-based infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience in managing teams that operates company's complex infrastructure availability and transformation
Ability to manage teams that develop tools to automate the deployment, administration and monitoring of Server, Storage & network
Ability to analyze and drive technical issue resolution across teams and manage preventive measures and drive change & problem management.
Completed SRE foundation certification
Even Better if you have:
Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and a collaborative approach.
Industry experience: Relevant experience in the organization’s industry can be a plus, especially if it involves similar technical challenges.
Strong experience in people & performance management
Strong communication & presentation skills
Certifications: - ITIL, SRE Practitioner certification, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
