What you’ll be doing...
You will be working with cutting edge technologies and will drive VCG Wireless applications. You will champion and drive initiatives partnering with cross functional teams and leadership to define, priorities, execute, and track the KPIs. You will be driving innovation as a culture with the teams through various methods. You will work with cross functional development teams, QA, SRE & Architecture teams and vendors to drive innovation programs to success and enable better user experience for our Verizon Consumer customers.
Senior Manager for Innovation is responsible for designing and executing projects through the entirety of the project life cycle. The Senior Innovation Manager plays a key leadership role spearheading high-impact innovation initiatives and leading cross-functional teams to drive transformation.
Building and maintaining a strategic programme for implementing the innovation strategy and ensuring that the resources (people and facilities) needed to deliver the innovation objectives are present.
Revised Stakeholder Engagement and Alignment: Bringing together various stakeholders across Verizon around shared goals and strategies for intricate projects; partnering closely with cross-functional teams to create, assess, and implement innovative and practical solutions; fostering collaboration among both internal and external stakeholders; working alongside the leadership team to formulate and carry out a strategy for stakeholder engagement alignment.
Investigation and Experimentation: Spearheading contextual research and design experiments to rapidly test assumptions and confirm proposed solutions; perform market analysis and gather customer insights to guide the development of new practices and models; educating others on applying innovative methods to navigate diverse complex problem areas, identify opportunities for enhancement, and lead teams in scaling successful interventions.
AI Skillset
Leveraging knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies and algorithms to create and implement AI models and solutions.
Design, enhance, and evaluate high-performing AI solutions to ensure they align with both business requirements and technical specifications.
Promote a culture of ongoing learning and growth, guiding and supporting the team to thrive in sophisticated AI methods.
Designing, building, and configuring Billing applications to meet business process and application requirements.
Ensuring timely delivery of all development projects.
Handling Employee Growth management, Performance management.
Engaging, influencing, and evangelizing Software Development best practices with development, operations and product groups to align technology service/solution delivery.
Utilizing business process insight and application knowledge.
Building a culture of highly motivated team members that are focused on speed and agility resulting in customer satisfaction through innovation and silo busting.
Developing talent, mentor and coach teams to drive continuous growth and improvement with focus on reducing time to market on our strategic goals, understanding business criticality, and removing complexity.
Working closely with external teams to define release content and ensure growth of the platform to meet competitive demands.
Leading and mentoring engineering web and application programming interface teams through software platform releases, ensuring products are on spec, architecturally sound, and delivered on time.
Supporting customers with major platform issues and coordinating triage efforts to solve them.
Documenting and maintaining architectural guidance to ensure performance and scalability of the platform.
Adhering to industry standards and best practices and understanding emerging technologies and trends to continuously improve the systems, application, infrastructure, and processes.
Bolstering, developing, motivating and retaining a world-class team and being responsible for the overall direction, coordination and continuous evaluation of the team, while fostering individual career development and high morale
Encouraging the team to participate in experimentation, hackathons, coding events, and other organization-wide events and efforts.
Providing leadership on complex projects, mentoring the team with specific emphasis on development, architecture, systems analysis & design, and testing
Driving quality accountability within the organization with well-defined processes, metrics, and goals for process quality. This includes leading effective postmortems and ensuring actions are followed-up
Driving platform strategy planning and execution: Driving efforts to strategies, plan, and implement the short-term and long-term goals of building a robust, repeat-at-scale, and efficient model for the engineering platform. Including SRE, DevSecOps, Security, Stability, Scalability and Availability tools and processes in place.
Enabling automation and proactive monitoring to detect issues and communicate to business proactively. With technical strength, guide the team on architecture, design, and on-the-job challenges
Driving capacity planning, performance analysis, instrumentation and other non-functional systems requirements.
Working with both internal and external customers on a daily basis, and deliver customer and executive briefings on a variety of topics including status updates, technical issues/solutions, budget and schedule timelines. Program Management duties include leading cross functional teams through software development activities.
Developing resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity, analysis of situations or data that requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Overseeing all aspects of the development & implementation of more than one large project and providing a single point of contact for those projects - original concept through final implementation.
Receiving broad guidance & is accountable for project or program results. Efficient vendor management by defining SMART goals, evaluating vendor performances, enabling greater vendor accountability and SOW executions.

You will need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Strong Technical knowledge and hands on experience in Vision Billing applications
Experience working on legacy mainframe technology transformation projects.
Knowledge in RBM (Netcracker product)
C++ development experience
Strong understanding of ITIL processes and Jira
Experience in Agile development methodologies.
Strong communication and leadership skills
Good team and organizational planning skills, sound judgment, high sense of urgency, attention to detail and strong time management skills.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master's degree in Computer Science.
Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry.
OSS/BSS product experience.
