What you'll be doing...
We are committed to providing the highest levels of compliance. This position is responsible for preparing state and local regulatory filings and business licenses by working with various financial systems to analyze data while adhering to regulatory compliance laws, local business license ordinances/regulations, and other related projects and tasks.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and file Regulatory filings in-house and business licenses via an outsourcer timely and accurately, in accordance with all laws and regulations for all Verizon-owned companies.
Prepare payments, manage liabilities and expenses related to the tax returns; work with AP, Treasury, and various in-house payment systems.
Assist with analysis related to mergers and acquisitions (including due diligence), Reconciliations, Budgets, Metrics, Cash Forecasting and other monthly reports.
Ensuring adherence to all SOX controls.
Assist with all Regulatory-related audits and billing inquiries, and resolve notices.
Conduct research as needed to comply with legislative changes and implement best compliance practices.
Focus on identifying process improvements and streamline/automate existing procedures.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or four or more years of work experience.
3-5 years of relevant work experience in Tax, Finance, or equivalent; Regulatory experience is a plus.
Advanced computer skills are required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with tax research, tax accounting, SOX processes, telecommunication taxes, and/or tax-saving strategies.
Ability to prioritize deliverables with competing timelines.
Ability to accurately manage deadlines.
Solid oral, written, and analytical skills.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Proficient with large volume data analysis needed for the preparation and filing of tax returns (i.e.: knowledge of billing systems, etc.).
Previous exposure to SAP (or other major General Ledger Suite Software) is a plus.
Working knowledge of automation tools (i.e. Alteryx, Qlik) and technical skills are a plus.
Ad-hoc/special projects experience.

Where you’ll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
