What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to manage the evolution of managed security, threat detection and incident response services. These services will be harnessing the broader Verizon’s business product portfolio to create a new class of security management tools. These technologies will provide companies, big and small, with the next generation of threat detection and response services with real-time automation and a suite of managed services.

You will be a critical part of the Verizon Business Group’s Security Technology Enablement team that enables the Product & Marketing Organization with the next generation of efficient and effective platforms for security products. You will work across engineering teams, business development, and product & marketing to set strategy, define the product, and make the difficult, high-judgment trade-offs between features and time-to-market. You will partner with the leaders of the organization to ensure the developer experience, programming model, scalability and reliability promises, and cost efficiency delight our customers.

As a seasoned product manager, you will:

  • Apply your knowledge of the market, the product, the competition, and learnings from early customers to build and iterate on product strategy.

  • Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Customer Design/Experience, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) by developing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) that will include business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment details.

  • Evaluate industry innovations and technology platforms and identify product partnership and collaboration opportunities to accelerate and or address gaps in the product portfolio.

  • Own designing business models, costing, target segments, customer profiles, execution plan and operating models for services and platforms.

  • Think digitally regarding product, sales, customer, and full life cycle experience with the goal of improving the customer experience from beginning to end.

  • Author collateral, FAQs, white papers, and presentations that can be leveraged across Verizon, external partners, and customers.

  • Interact with senior level executives within Verizon and with Fortune 500 companies, and therefore must be an exceptional communicator.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology or computer science, or four or more years work experience in technology industry or function.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Ability to work to completion without direction.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills - ability to use data to develop and measure go to market programs.

  • Strong technical knowledge of threat detection technologies, security incident response and cloud computing.

  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies, application orchestration, networking, telecom and IoT business models.

  • Ability in delivering quickly and collaboratively.

  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable for the quality of all deliverables.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MBA, preferably from a top tier university

  • Ten or more years of demonstrated full-lifecycle ownership of product development, with cross team and cross discipline execution, either directly or as an organizational leader.

  • Ability to conceptualize new, innovative applications/services and justify design, build, and/or buy decisions using solid ROI analysis.

  • Knowledge of business objectives and being creative enough to help define what we build, with demonstrated experience leading product efforts.

  • Communication skills to manage the large degree of external interaction with customers and partners the role needs.

  • Ability to lead/supervise multiple projects, also performs project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuration, resources and scheduling.

  • Ability to make decisions that impact projects and staff members.

  • Knowledge of products and technologies across Verizon and how they may strategically align with projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Holds patents or has published industry papers/documents/literature.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $119,000.00 and $221,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
