What you’ll be doing...

As the Product Dev/Mgmt-Sr Mgr, Wireless Device Innovation Strategy you'll leverage your product strategy background and business development acumen for the Verizon Business Device & Device Services team. The role’s mission is to drive the direction and innovation for the next-generation of wireless device categories. The Product Manager will possess a blend of business and technical expertise, can see the big picture, and has the confidence to make the vision into reality.

You will monitor the wireless device landscape for new category opportunities, develop a strategy for Verizon, create RFPs, evaluate OEM device proposals then define segment positioning for the product category.. You’ll have full autonomy to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them from ideas to product selection). You’ll be tasked to support various emerging device categories, including AR/VR headsets, and ensure each product’s success at launch and beyond.

Your work will help maintain Verizon’s leadership position by anticipating business customer needs and shaping our future offerings to meet them. Your vision and leadership will help us realize what’s next for Verizon. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end ownership of the emerging device products from the development lifecycle (ie. ideation to launch) and go-to-market strategy to grow the business.

  • Working closely with the device manufacturers to find mutually beneficial areas for collaboration. Manage ongoing partnership strategy with key vendors. Review vendor proposals and their roadmaps to determine viable benefits towards Verizon business portfolios.

  • Reviewing and prioritizing product requirements; Defining the vision and business strategy for new products; Identify and track KPIs and use them as a cornerstone for communicating to stakeholders, and the teams focus and priorities.

  • Strong understanding of the market opportunity. Responsibility for the product P&L, identifying and managing commercial risks and ensuring strategic product decisions align with the business decisions.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of customers and users, gathering key insights that will shape the product experience.

  • Conduct market research customer needs, pain points and perform competitor gap analysis, identifying new offerings to drive growth and converting /refining them into product ideas.

  • Work closely with product marketers and engineers to understand the market and technology trends, define and drive product vision, business case, product strategy and distill a product roadmap.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Sales organization on product positioning, messaging, creating a product distribution and commercialization plan, creating and setting product targets and enablement needs and creating solutions that meet those needs.

  • Synthesize perspectives across a diverse set of stakeholders to make quick decisions.

  • Communicate value of the offering to customers, stakeholders & leaders.

  • Identify future potential and opportunity space for your product and get your teams, customers and business network excited about it.

  • Help to organize quarterly business reviews and periodical meetings to review OEM sales metrics and areas for improvement.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience in product management, product development, or portfolio strategy

  • Experience with understanding customer insights, market trend analysis, usability testing, A/B testing, and analytics

  • Experience in product portfolio management, and understanding product P&L

  • Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationships to find mutually beneficial areas for collaboration.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or Master's is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge on 5G Technology / Wireless Technologies / . purpose-built solutions (e.g. Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality headsets).

  • Ability to translate market knowledge and tactical strategy into compelling use cases.

  • Deep data and analytic expertise for evidence-based decision making.

  • Ability to translate technical topics into customer-facing solutions & product strategy.

  • Strong communication, presentation, decision making and negotiation skills.

  • Passion about learning about new wireless products, devices and software technology and application trends.

  • Strong cross functional skills, can motivate people not on your direct team.

  • Experience working autonomously in a fast paced environment.

  • Experience in operating within a multi-channel/multi-region brand.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
