What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a senior manager who can work with the world-class data engineers to help drive the telecom business to its full potential. We are building data products / assets for telecom wireless and wireline business which includes consumer analytics, telecom network performance and service assurance analytics etc. We are working on cutting edge technologies like digital twin to build these analytical platforms and provide data support for varied AI ML implementations.

As a data engineering manager, you will be collaborating with business product owners, coaches, industry renowned data scientists and system architects to develop strategic data solutions from sources which include batch, file and data streams.

As a Manager for the Data Engineering team, you will be managing data platforms and implementing new technologies and tools to further enhance and enable data science/analytics, focusing to drive scalable data management and governance practices. Leading the team of data engineers & solutions architects to deliver solutions to business teams.

  • Driving the vision with the leadership team for data platforms enrichment covering the areas like Data Warehousing/Data Lake/BI across the portfolio.

  • Defining and executing a plan to achieve that vision.

  • Building a high-quality Data engineering team and continuing to drive to scale up.

  • Ensuring the team adheres to the standard methodologies on data engineering practices.

  • Building cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Business teams to understand data needs and deliver data for insight solutions.

  • Driving the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines.

  • Driving data quality across all data pipelines and related business areas.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Two or more years of experience in leading the team and tracking the end-to-end deliverables.

  • Experience in end-to-end delivery of Data Platform Solutions and working on large scale data transformation.

  • Experience in delivering Data Products at enterprise scale to support business decisions and outcomes that are focused around Customer Service and Retail domain.

  • Experience in building both batch & real-time data solutions using Google Cloud Platform/Big Query.

  • Experience in building data services using conversational data and integrating with Generative AI services.

  • Experience working in any Graph DB or Vector DBs.

  • Experience in working with DevOps and Data pipeline automation platforms.

  • Knowledge of Spark, Hive, Scala, Pig, Kafka, Pulsar, Nifi, Python, Shell scripting.

  • Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload.

  • Experience in building / mentoring the team.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Certifications in any Data Warehousing/Analytical solutioning.

  • Certification in program/project management.

  • Experience in technical leadership in architecture, design, implementation and support of large-scale data and analytics solutions that are highly reliable, flexible, and scalable.

  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams.

  • Knowledge of Teradata.

  • Good Communication and Presentation skills.
