What you’ll be doing...

You’ll gather data from internal and external focus groups, internal partners and customers through surveys, interviews and workshops to uncover insights, make recommendations and develop business/pricing strategies to win in the market. Through collaborating with partners, you will identify what data is needed to support the business and deliver quantitative and qualitative analyses. You will foster external and internal business relationships to collect information and synthesize data to identify opportunities and competitive threats. The insights you gather will be turned into strategic and tactical recommendations that will drive business decisions and actions.

  • Understanding business challenges and identifying what questions need to be answered.

  • Designing research to answer the business questions.

  • Analyzing data, uncovering insights, and making recommendations.

  • Proactively gathering, monitoring, analyzing and disseminating external information about competitors, customers, markets and products.

  • Providing market and industry perspectives to complement the research, insights, and inform recommendations.

  • Managing research projects to be timely, on budget, and provide the needed learning.

The Sr. Manager, Competitive Pricing Strategy Analytics researches market conditions in local, regional, or national areas, and will gather information to develop marketing strategies.

  • Strategic Insights - Drive operational strategies through actionable insights and thought leadership.

  • Market Analysis - Be the in-house analytics function helping not only drive strategic insights, but support other groups within Consumer and Verizon for data and analytical support.

  • Data Interpretation and Presentation - Interpreting data for marketing trends and providing reports and recommendations to senior leadership. Providing regular updates on various aspects of research such as market conditions, competition, products, etc. Presenting market analysis results to senior-level leadership.

  • Research - Collecting and analyzing data on competitor's operations, sales, and marketing to advise strategies on products and marketing. Monitors and directs the research and analysis of the company's markets, competition, and product mix.

What we’re looking for...

You enjoy digging into details to make observations and recommendations. You’re able to translate numbers into narratives-—and tailor your presentation and recommendations to the audience function and level. You understand the bigger picture and set the research in that context to provide comprehensive business-savvy recommendations. And when something needs to be said, you aren’t shy—because you know that it is meaningful for the business to know. You are a trusted business partner and enjoy working with cross functional teams to deliver the best outcomes.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Marketing analytics, market research and/ or consumer insights experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Managed complex marketing research/consumer insights projects with internal and external partners.

  • Crafted, implemented, and interpreted studies and analysis of syndicated and custom data as well as focus groups, interviews, and surveys.

  • Delivered custom presentations, made recommendations, and advised senior leaders on critical business decisions.

  • Created and delivered compelling tailored presentations.

  • Experience with using PowerPoint in data visualization tools for reporting, like Tableau or Qlik.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
