Job Description

When you join Verizon

You want more out of a career. A place to share your ideas freely — even if they’re daring or different. Where the true you can learn, grow, and thrive. At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together — lifting our communities and building trust in how we show up, everywhere & always. Want in? Join the V Team Life.

What you'll be doing…

As a Senior Manager in the Verizon Business Group (VBG) Product & Marketing Business Development team, you will be responsible for driving our strategic product partnerships for the SMB Marketplace. You will work cross-functionally with the Product, Marketing, Pricing, Sales, Finance, and Legal teams. You will craft a long-term vision for the partner strategy and adjust along the way as needed.

  • Manage large and complex partnerships to land deals for future products that enable Verizon's SMB Marketplace roadmap.

  • Define, negotiate, and close complex product, distribution, marketing, and technology agreements with multiple partners.

  • Drive complex deals to resolution through both internal and external communications.

  • Craft documents that frame a deal/partnership issue and drive to completion.

  • Represent Verizon in meetings with executives, both internally and externally.

  • Span various product areas across VBG and strike deals that provide the best outcome for Verizon.

  • Work cross-functionally with product management, product marketing, legal, finance, and engineering teams to negotiate deal terms and advocate internally on behalf of partners.

  • Forge strong relationships with external partners and cross-functional teams to get it all done.

  • Define KPIs and assess performance for continuous improvement.

  • Participate in business case development and presentations for alignment with working teams.

  • Develop, drive, and align teams to a multiyear roadmap.

  • Test out new ideas and concepts for feasibility and market potential.

  • Drive escalations to internal alignment.

What we’re looking for…

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Four or more years of work experience in product/platform, partnership, or technical experience in B2B companies.

  • Three or more years of partner-facing experience.

  • Experience with business cases.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master’s degree – ideally an MBA.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Technical knowledge and learning mindset.

  • Exceptional communication skills; written, oral, and presentation.

  • Executive grade presentation skills with emphasis on storytelling and cross-functional alignment.

  • Convey your ideas in compelling and persuasive ways to a variety of audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage deadlines in a highly-complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Experiencing leading teams, especially cross-functional teams, with the ability to execute on multiple assignments independently and proactively.

  • Mentor team members, foster their growth, and identify areas for skill enhancement.

  • Experience working in an evolving and collaborative environment and working cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally.

  • Experience developing strong working relationships inside and outside Verizon.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
