What you’ll be doing…

Verizon is building a future using a combination of technologies such as 5G Mobility, Private Wireless Networks and Edge Computing to create solutions that drive the world forward. We have the unique opportunity to define the playing field for the next wave of technology innovation with applications such as IoT, connected cars, aerial drone solutions, augmented intelligence, and more. Within these evolving ecosystems, Verizon is uniquely positioned to capture new growth and value opportunities.

As part of Verizon Business Group’s 5G Acceleration team you will be advancing this portfolio and helping to scale the future. 5G Acceleration is a mission-focused organization, working across the company to create, build, and deliver these 5G-driven value streams that unlock customer transformations.

In this role, you will play a critical part in validating customer solutions, expanding the Private 5G device portfolio, and supporting co-innovation activities with current and future business partners. As part of a fast-paced team chartered with delivering the future for Verizon and its customers, your ability to execute inside of cross-functional teams, navigate obstacles, and communicate clearly with all levels of leadership is paramount. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, perseveres in spite of setbacks, and looks for opportunity to impact the business with their own ideas as well as embracing objectives from other teams.

This role can evolve to meet the needs of the business, but you would be responsible for:

  • Execution of Device Validation testing for commercial and pre-commercial offerings supporting Verizon Private Wireless Networks (PWN) covering Verizon and Partner portfolios

  • Proof-of-Concept lab testing for future product offerings

  • Automation of test cases to drive efficiency and repeatability for the business

  • Development and maintenance of Experience Program demo kits covering PWN and adjacent technologies in the Verizon portfolio

  • Collaborating with Sales, Solution Architecture, and other technical/non-technical stakeholders to support product roadmap and experiential environments for our customers

  • Gathering, assessing, and presenting data in order to fulfill regular and ad-hoc requests including executive-level escalations

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Six or more years of relevant experience

  • Product Engineering experience, including experience with cross-functional and/or cross-area projects

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a high-energy, dynamic, and sometimes unstructured environment

  • Experience with lab automation/development and scripting to enable rapid prototyping and solutioning

Even better if you have:

  • 5+ years of applicable industry/technology experience

  • BS and/or advanced degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • In-depth knowledge of Verizon products and services, functions, policies, and procedures

  • Agile Project Management experience

  • Technical (e.g. software systems design) and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment

  • The ability to provide simplified data visualization or illustrations on operational data, technical solutions, and complicated business processes
