What you’ll be doing...
We need to keep our reliable network thriving to provide our customers with high quality products and services. You will be a key member of the solution architecture team. You will specify solution architecture and design for wireline & wireless systems used by Verizon Business Group. As Sr Engr in the solution architecture team, You will coordinate with/between product owners, project management, GTS development team to create consensus on technical approaches, solutions and design/propose high level architecture. As a domain authority, you will also provide thought leadership and provide direction and input to collaborating organizations.
Delivering high level architecture for projects approved by business for execution in VBG Wireline, Wireless, IoT segments
Delivering north star architecture for identified business domain to drive system modernization, reduce license spend and adopt new GenAI tools
Conducting feasibility analysis and vendor evaluation, developing project plans, leading HLD effort, and supporting deployment.
Understand complex architectures and clearly communicate those architectures at both a technical and executive level. Find areas of agreement, brainstorm solutions, and gain consensus and alignment on solutions.
Evangelize and teach best practices, system design principles and adoption of new technology or techniques
Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models
What we’re looking for...
You should be familiar with Verizon Business Group and the wireline & wireless offerings to enterprise customers. Knowledge about wireline & wireless system stacks is essential.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or Eight or more years of work experience..
Eight or more years of relevant work experience.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other teams and departments.
Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills are required, including the discipline to document decisions and architectural approaches on a wiki (or similar collaboration tool).
Experience defining and following standards, while maintaining the agility and flexibility to adapt to changes.
Experience in assessing As-Is system processes and proposing To-Be system processes
Previous software development experience (C, C++, Java, Python, etc.)
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Advanced degree in computer science.
Familiarity with TM Forum standards such as eTOM, Open APIs, ODA etc.
Experience on micro front end and microservices architecture
Familiarity with cloud-computing/virtualization technologies.
Experience in understanding Gen AI tools and platforms
Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Framework like TOGAF.
