What you’ll be doing...

The Sr. Director for the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT) within Verizon’s Corporate Security Organization, will provide leadership and strategic oversight for a number of dynamic, multifaceted and high-performance teams responsible for balancing compliance requirements with safeguarding customer and business records.

Responsibilities

This individual will define and oversee the strategic and operational direction of a team responsible for processing government issued clearances, handling classified contracts and facilities, responding to civil and criminal legal demands, handling life-threatening and emergency requests for Verizon records in a 24X7X365 environment. Additionally, the team is responsible for effectuating lawfully authorized electronic surveillances, evaluating products and technologies to ensure CALEA compliance, implementing and testing CALEA solutions, administering and securing CALEA architectures, expanding VSAT’s Outreach Program for law enforcement and public safety communities, and maximizing cost recovery. The role reports directly to the Vice President-Corporate Security.

You’ll need to have…

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years experience

  • 7+ years large team management experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a call center type environment

  • Experience managing and influencing relationships at the senior executive level

  • Ability to present and interact with all levels of management

  • Strong ability to learn quickly and assimilate in a high volume, fast paced environment

  • Strong analytical, investigative, facilitation, and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure, on multiple assignments, with strong attention to detail

  • Eligibility to apply for and obtain national security clearance through the Department Of Justice

  • 7 or more years of experience interacting with law enforcement and government agencies

  • Willingness and flexibility to adapt schedule to situations as they arise, on-call 24X7 and travel less than 25% of the time

  • Operational environment experience

  • Demonstrated leadership, management, analytical, decision making, problem solving, interpersonal and motivational skills

  • Proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams

  • Ability to lead and motivate the organization to achieve tactical and strategic goals in a matrix organization

  • Experience leading and managing a distributed workforce

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Even better if you have one or more of the following…

  • Knowledge of the legislation and company policies governing the release of business/customer records

  • Understanding of the wireless network, and call and data processing for its use as an effective tool for law enforcement and search and rescue organizations when handling exigent situations
