What you’ll be doing...
This role will partner with the Verizon Value Organization and the rest of the Central Marketing Organization to drive media strategy and build media plans that drive awareness, demand, engagement and ultimately growth of our
portfolio of Value Brands products and services. The Verizon Value organization helps further unlock our ability to enhance customer experiences on our industry-leading wireless network, delight customers more consistently with the right value propositions and drive growth in the value market. As part of the Media Platforms Center of Excellence, we are shaping the future of how Verizon Value uses media and connections to support priority brands such as Visible, Total Wireless, Straight Talk and Tracfone.
As a member of this fast-paced and energetic team, you will be the leader of media for all Value Brands, responsible for overseeing a team of internal media professionals shaping how we build media strategy and drive the media
execution across the portfolio.
You will partner with a broad, cross-functional set of talented stakeholders, and will act as an extension of the Verizon Value marketing team.
You will be the lead point of contact for media with Verizon Value leadership, senior agency partners, leading portfolio management initiatives and major campaign strategy, as well as channel and special project strategies.
We’re ultimately looking for someone willing to raise the bar with every campaign and inspire the media team, agency and cross functional marketing partners to drive the best media strategy and impact.
● Act as a critical member of the marketing leadership team and as the strategic media leader across the value brands portfolio.
● Provide clear communication and presentations to Value Brands business unit to ensure clarity on role of media channels and metrics and delivery of data and performance to key stakeholders.
● Ensure business, marketing briefs and plans are translated into actionable media briefs for agency partners.
● Oversee and drive holistic full funnel media strategy across Verizon Value portfolio based on business goals, marketing roadmaps and objectives, media opportunities, audience insights & segmentation, Upfront negotiations, and marketplace pricing.
● Ensure plan strategy and development are informed by data, insights and analytics and tied to metrics and goals that ladder up to measurement plans and KPIs.
● Set campaign metrics/KPIs for overall media plan in partnership with Marketing Effectiveness team, and specific media tactics/partners with priorities defined across measurement, analytics, learning, creative performance and media innovation.
● Provide strong POVs and thought leadership in plan decision-making, including offline, online, and retail media channels to ensure all ladder into a holistic marketing approach to fulfill key initiatives and goals throughout the year.
● Partner directly with key stakeholders & counterparts in Marketing Planning, CMI, and Marketing Effectiveness to effectively tie media outcomes to deliver on business/marketing objectives.
● In partnership with agency leads, guide strategic decision making, problem-solving resolutions and find efficiencies in ways of working to improve efficacy of media deliverables.
● Oversee and provide guidance for internal presentations to showcase media plans and campaigns to the internal Verizon organization, inclusive of senior/C-suite leadership.
● Manage internal team of media specialists at various levels and the extended media agency team.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
● Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
● Ten or more years of relevant work experience in full funnel media strategy, planning and activation.
● Experience in leading media teams that appreciate the role of media tactics and channels across the full funnel but also specializes in lower funnel (performance) media.
● Experience managing through ambiguity, balancing multiple dynamic priorities but pushing for clarity and direction.
● Experience in media driving retail visits
● Experience with local media planning and activation
● Proficiency in creating data-driven, visual presentations, particularly for executive leadership with comfort in presenting media plans, findings and performance insights to C-suite executives.
● Ability to understand business strategy and correlate business outcomes to media actions/KPIs.
● Knowledge of Google suite / Excel and PowerPoint, proficiency with creating visual presentations.
● Willingness to travel 25% of the time (Majority of travel is either to NYC or HQ in Basking Ridge, NJ pending base location)
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
● Marketing/media leadership experience for portfolio based brands (telco is a plus), including agency side.
● Understanding of matrixed organizations and comfortability working with multiple stakeholders.
● Expertise in media strategy, planning and execution, particularly in driving demand, brand equity and site/store traffic to generate business growth.
● Familiarity with the business planning process, setting strategic media spend recommendations based on business goal volume and marketing efficiencies.
● Experience in managing large media budgets with agile spending shifts within a portfolio of brands.
● Effective project management and communication skills at varying levels while managing a team.
● Success in managing a team, providing consistent feedback and opportunity for growth and development.
● Ability to understand business strategy and correlate business outcomes to media actions/KPIs.
● Ability to effectively collaborate across disciplines with different teams and stakeholders across brands within the portfolio.
Where you’ll be working…
This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days (8-days per month).. Defined work location can be our New York City office or Basking Ridge, NJ HQ.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $193,000.00 and $358,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
