What you’ll be doing...
The Program Manager will lead operational support for the Government Pentagon customer.
- Oversees Project Managers and high-priority projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration.
- Ensures all projects are managed from original concept through final implementation with responsibilities for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project.
- Interfaces with all areas affected by the project, including customer stakeholders, end users, distributors, and vendors.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Communicates with a Government Executive regarding the status of specific projects.
- Reviews and analyzes planned activities in order to determine how best to apply project planning and project management control methods.
- Works in cooperation with Government Pentagon customer so that all projects are well coordinated with all related Government Pentagon activities, services, infrastructures, and functions.
- Provides oversight for the management of hiring and onboarding of 30+ personnel using the Vendor Management capabilities. This requires very close coordination with the Verizon vendors who will be re-badging/hiring incumbent personnel.
- Ensures that all positions are filled to meet requirements of the labor categories and have required certifications.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Experience managing complex projects.
- Experienced with the development and management of program documentation, inclusive of a risk register, standard operating procedures, basis of estimates, and other program documentation
- Prior experience with resource planning labor category requirements, and requisition development
- Ability to maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- PMP and six sigma certifications.
- Managed programs and/or user experience design
- Ability to maintain a secret level clearance
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Customer service experience with internal and external clients.
- Translated complex ideas to be relevant and understood by various functions and levels.
- Exhibit leadership qualities required to coordinate and lead meetings to drive progress associated with assignments
- Previous experience with executing program baselines, identifying variances, and communicating issues in a timely manner
- Prior personnel management experience with the ability to drive successful completion of projects and deliverables
- Ability to maintain discretion associated with staffing and cost requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Program/Project Management principles and concepts (WBS, PWS, IMS, RACI, Risk Management)
- Ability to utilize MS Office Products to develop and maintain program documentation
- Strong analysis skills, with the ability to effectively communicate results to leadership and subordinates
- Able to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Experience with change management; with the ability to implement processes, while addressing political considerations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly communicate ideas
