What you'll be doing...

This position is designed for a highly experienced professional who has a proven track record in central office engineering and Strategic Process Management. Responsibilities include covering all aspects of the development & implementation of large programs including 2- and 5-year planning forecasts. The primary responsibilities of the Strategic Process Manager are the development of Large Corporate Initiatives, Long-range Planning, Major Initiative Planning, and Strategic Build Planning as they relate to the Power, Space, and Cooling of technical facilities.

Additionally, the responsibilities include Major Initiative Planning, Strategic Build Planning, Consolidated Forecasting, Local Law Planning, Lease Consolidation Review, and Affiliate Lease Reviews. Also, working with all associated teams within and outside of the organization coordinating 2- and 5-year growth plan for all Verizon Technical Facilities while ensuring adherence to standards and maintaining fiscal integrity. The Process Manager will coordinate and collaborate with Regional Planning, Technology specific Planning, Network Planning, PSC Capacity Planners, Project Engineers, Field Engineers/Vendor Managers, Real-estate, CO Operations, and any other stakeholder on all projects.

  • Working with Planning teams (Network and IOF) to collect 2-5-year forecasts for each Technical Facility.

  • Driving more efficient use of capital, manpower, and Corporate Assets.

  • Creating, documenting and maintaining FE&C Processes.

  • Leading Cross Functional collaboration calls (FE, RE, NNI, Ops, etc.) – Drive communication and team work.

  • Leading Quarterly readouts to Leadership.

  • Updating and maintaining FE&C Playbook.

  • Collaborating with Standards Team to ensure Playbook and Standards adherence

  • Managing the Priority Banding list, the PUSE and SUSE lists all from the FE&C Perspective.

  • Serving as the single-entry point of contact for all new programs requiring Power, Space, and Cooling in the Verizon Technical Facilities.

  • Working a cross numerous organizations to collect and consolidate forecast data and create an all-inclusive look the future use of each Central Office.

  • Leading efforts to set priorities and implement strategic network initiatives for the Facilities, Engineering and Construction organization. This includes interaction with Wireline Network Planning, Engineering and Operations, IOF Planning, Verizon Wireless and Global Real Estate as a Single Point of Contact.

  • Tracking site and system utilizations, forecasting network growth and modernization requirements and calculating network augmentation needs and developing coordinated timing schedules.

  • Participating in stakeholder and customer meetings as required.

Location: Other valid Verizon Network Hub locations can be considered.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Excel/PowerPoint/Google Tools and project management software (Procore).

  • Project Management certification.

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead others (formally and informally) toward a common objective.

  • Excellent professional communications skills both verbally and written

  • Strong PC skills with working understanding of AutoCAD, Canvas, and strong Project Management, Excel, and PowerPoint software experience.

  • Familiarity with engineering, construction, implementation and operation of HVAC/facility cooling, AC/DC Power, and Supply & Demand Network analysis based on network engineering growth, and energy technology.

  • Customer Focus, Network Technology Design and Construction, and Project/Strategic Management.

  • Working knowledge in determining project scope, definition, objectives and tasks.

  • Strong program and process management with working knowledge of Cable/power distribution, backup power supplies, HVAC, AC & DC Power, UPS, Generators, alarm systems and Fire Protection Systems.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, engineering drawings, specification manuals and government regulations and possess the ability to apply them to current situations.

  • Expert knowledge of general central office engineering processes, design and linkages to network architecture.

  • Proven track record of self-starting and independent thinking.

  • Application of practices, engineering principles and multiple technologies for each project initiative, as well as organizing key stakeholders & subject matter experts for adhoc project teams, and following through with little or no direction.
