Job Description

When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect around the world. We’re a human network that reaches across the globe and works behind the scenes. We anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together—lifting up our communities and striving to make an impact to move the world forward. If you’re fueled by purpose, and powered by persistence, explore a career with us. Here, you’ll discover the rigor it takes to make a difference and the fulfillment that comes with living the #NetworkLife.

What you’ll be doing...

Customer demand for wireless data service keeps growing, and to stay ahead of demand, we’re deploying new cell sites. New macro and small cell sites add coverage and capacity to our network efficiently, when deployed correctly. You’ll scout potential sites for new small cells and manage the site acquisition process. Your work will mean that even more users can connect to reliable high-speed wireless service, anywhere they live, work, and play.

  • Analyzing potential site locations and then creating business cases for site acquisition.

  • Work with outside vendors including Legal, Architectural and Engineering firms and site acquisition agents on project design in order to meet VZ standards and build schedules.

  • Project-manages regional Network capital upgrade project, including new Network activations, cell expansions, system reconfigurations and upgrades.

  • Managing vendors and purchasing during the site acquisition process.

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • Interfacing with stakeholders like landlords, government employees, community officials and legal counsel.

  • Hosts routine planning and working sessions with key stakeholders to review project scope, define issues, develop deliverables and track action items.

  • Maintaining database systems and reports pertaining to cellular site projects.

  • Works closely with Implementation, RF Engineering and Equipment Engineering to ensure cell site construction issues are cleared and requirements are met.

  • Proven ability to manage a heavy workload, be detail oriented and results-driven.

  • Reviews vendor quotes and issues purchase orders, and manages receipts associated with vendor POs.

  • Demonstrated budget tracking, cost estimation and cost accounting of large-scale projects.

What we’re looking for...

You’re an expert project manager—organized, detail oriented, and efficient. You’ve got excellent negotiation skills, and can work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, even in challenging situations. You’re driven to resolve problems and overcome hurdles, and you approach every situation with a can-do, team-player attitude.

You’ll need to have:

  • Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2024.

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with wireless leasing or zoning.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.

  • Real estate background. Ideally, in commercial leasing/acquisition, property management, site acquisition, land use entitlements, or real-estate affiliated legal.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
