As a Lead Pricing Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing, recommending, approving, and negotiating custom pricing proposals for standard solutions across an assigned Federal Government Account base with potential total contract values of one hundred million dollar and more. The Lead Pricing Specialist will also support complex renewals, as well as requests for significant contract terms and conditions modifications. You will perform in-depth financial modeling, risk analysis, and establish price points to ensure margins are aligned with business objectives. Requires a broad range of skills within Government contracting and/or Finance related disciplines to effectively perform the role.

Other responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Pricing modeling & analysis for requests for pricing that span the breadth of Verizon products and services.

  • Analyzing requests for pricing and technical requirements to assess the relevant CLIN structure.

  • Developing business cases based on sales, regulatory and company business objectives.

  • Establishing and supporting price-to-win recommendations.

  • Working with sales, solution team, external partners/ vendors, and other stakeholders to align cost with RFP required services/CLIN

  • Developing the pricing demand model and RFP evaluation model and support completion of the business case.

  • Delivering compliant customer-facing pricing for Federal government proposals including preparing the pricing assumptions and narratives.

  • Responsible for reviewing and evaluating product and/or deal-specific financing; analyzing, recommending and approving customer pricing and commercial responses based on a variety of factors such as profitability, competition and regulatory issues.

  • Managing multiple priorities based on direct interaction with sales.

  • Working concurrently on a variety of complex projects using independent judgment in performance of assigned work.

  • Providing specialized guidance on financial and commercial terms to those inside and outside of Verizon Business Group (VBG).

  • Identifying and researching complex problems using specialized knowledge and skills.

  • Strong analytical and data management skills, ability to manage and standardize large and complex data for bids and business case use.

  • Responsible for acting in a consultative role to Sales Account Teams in their efforts to drive revenue. Offer strategic solutions and financial guidance. This includes managing their pricing expectations.

  • Effectively communicating all aspects of the opportunity analyzed and providing recommendations to CDM management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Responsible for collaborating with various organizations (Legal, Finance, Standard Pricing, Engineering, etc.) on the pricing of complex and non-standard solutions. \

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with contract negotiations, and pricing.

  • A degree.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field like Business, Finance, or Economics.

  • An MBA.

  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel.

  • The ability to solve complex problems creatively.

  • The ability to work well with ambiguity.

  • The ability to make sound business decisions under pressure.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with customers, senior leaders, and employees at all levels.

  • The ability to perform work effectively with little supervision or direction against aggressive deadlines.

  • Understanding of Verizon's products/services and value proposition.

  • Understanding of the commercial, financial, regulatory, and technical aspects of the industry.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
