What you’ll be doing...
As a key contributor to International Accounting team you’ll be using your expertise to create and execute accounting processes, analyse data, advise the team, and support your colleagues. Our finance team is the best in the business, so come be a part of the team that keeps our financial operations accurate, compliant, and running like clockwork. Your main responsibilities will be to assist the monthly / year end close process and any other ad hoc projects.
Support group and local statutory accounting and audit process.
Responsibility for the posting of all month / quarter / year end general ledger journals. Ensure all entries have appropriate back up and are compliant with both US GAAP and local country GAAP.
Detailed review of relevant P&L and Balance Sheet. Detailed analysis and explanation of Month on month, year on year variances.
Perform required balance sheet reconciliation at month end. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed timely, research and resolve outstanding items timely with business owners.
Identify opportunities for systems and process improvements to improve controls, efficiency and timeliness.
Ensure complete compliance to any internal accounting policies, SOX controls and relevant GAAP.
Contribute to complex accounting and compliance projects with minimal direction.
Partner cross-functionally with our customers/stakeholders to strengthen relationships, broaden our understanding of the business and processes, and provide meaningful value-added analysis, reporting and business advice.
Engage and support enterprise-wide social responsibility initiatives.
What we’re looking for...
You’ve got accounting expertise in Financial Accounting and US GAAP, a natural team player, and an ability to work effectively with your peers in other functions. You are comfortable managing data from multiple sources. You can describe complex accounting concepts in a simple way, you work well across functions and take ownership of the tasks that have been assigned to you. You are someone comfortable working under pressure and tight deadlines. It is an advantage to have worked with Local Statutory Reporting, tax returns and audit.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
ACCA, ACA or CIMA certification (or similar).
Knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as SAP, AO and Blackline.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
Experience in the preparation of general ledgers and report query and design for multiple countries.
Experience with preparing local GAAP statutory financial statements as well as monthly and quarterly management accounts with commentary on variances
Experience in posting journals and produce reports in nSAP/S4 and performing balance sheet reconciliation with detailed supporting documents.
Knowledge of US GAAP and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or IFRS.
Experience in running continuous improvement projects, and conducting root cause analysis.
Experience gained whilst working in the IT or Telecommunications industry.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong written and verbal communications skills.
