What you’ll be doing...
Verizon is looking for a Distinguished Engineer-Software Development to lead and transform our web and service automation testing frameworks while integrating AI solutions into our testing ecosystem. This role will drive the strategic execution and optimization of automation and AI initiatives, ensuring high-quality deliverables and operational excellence.
The position will be responsible for developing and executing effective test automation strategies specifically for mobile app, web and services testing for all Value segments and infusing AI to reduce time and save cost, collaborating with business and technical teams to ensure quality, and leading a team of QA professionals.
Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive automation strategy for web and service applications.
Designing and managing scalable and robust automation frameworks for functional, performance, and regression testing.
Evaluating and integrating AI/ML-driven tools to improve test case generation, defect prediction, and testing accuracy.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Development, DevOps, QA) to embed automation and AI solutions into CI/CD pipelines.
Staying ahead of emerging trends and technologies in AI and automation, bringing innovative solutions to the organization.
Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Defining and tracking KPIs for automation and AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Managing resource allocation, budgets, and timelines for automation and AI projects.
What we're looking for…
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in automation testing.
Expertise in automation frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar.
Experience with AI/ML tools and techniques, particularly in testing and defect management.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or similar.
Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based testing environments.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to adapt to and drive change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis
Certifications in AI/ML or Automation Testing tools.
Experience with tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other AI frameworks.
Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
